How to Reach
You can board an overnight bus from Bangalore to Karwar. Also, buses regularly ply between Madgoan and Karwar. Karwar is well-linked with Delhi, Mumbai and Mangalore by Konkan railway. However, some super-fast trains do not halt here, and you need to get down at Madgoan or Ankola, and from there hire a tax or board a slow train to Karwar. To reach Oyster Rock, you need to board a boat from Karwar port.
Goa has the nearest airport. From Goa airport, you can hire a taxi to reach Oyster Rock which takes around 2 hours drive.

Sadashivgad Hill Fort: Located 5 km north of Karwar, this 1698 built fort is a major attraction in the Uttara Kannada district. It houses an ancient Durga Bhavani Temple. Near Sadashivgad, Kali River rushes to meet Arabian Sea here, and the confluence makes for a spectacular view.
Narasimha Temple: This ancient temple is located atop a hill in a tortoise shaped island, Kurumgad. This island is 6 km from Karwar. One can follow a trekking trail to reach the top. The temple is dedicated to Narasimha who is believed to be the 10th incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
