Shimla to Kaza Road Condition

Send Enquiry
You will find the roads very narrow at several points during your journey. Only one vehicle can pass through those pathways. When you can reach such lanes, it's better to halt at any convenient spot to allow the other vehicles coming from the opposite direction to pass through first.

The route is rough and hazardous from Tapri due to landslides and plenty of stones rolling off from the mountain slope. So, try to avoid driving on it during the night because they may be disastrous. Since in the daytime, you can spot them well in advance to stop instantly. Also, the route from Kalpa to Kaza specifically has no fuel pumps.

So, it is a wise choice to refuel the tank in Kalpa only. Follow the below guidelines for understanding the route condition:

- Shimla to Narkanda – Well-maintained road
- Narkanda to Jeori – Average road condition with least bad patches at some parts of the route
- Jeori to Sarahan – Dangerous route

It was a great trip for me. However, there were some pros and cons. Pros: • The bikes were in good condition, and there were regular breaks for riders. • The trip guide was excellent and very clear with instructions. • They selected excellent viewpoints and regular stops. All the pre-decided places were duly shown to us. Cons • The food could have been improved • The internet connectivity throughout was very poor.
