Know Before You Go for Spiti Valley Jeep Safari

  • For safety purposes, the tour is not recommended for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, anyone that has had major surgery, or has a broken leg/arm, has chronic back or neck pains, etc.
  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; it is advisable that you take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
  • Consult a physician before undertaking the tour. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.
  • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the tour. The advisable baggage weight is 60 litres as you might have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle, the accommodation, etc.
  • Rates may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests, hotel change, etc., before the beginning of the trip.
  • The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.
  • Thrillophilia reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance that occurred (i.e weather condition, political condition or any others) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service.
  • Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like a change in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomenon, roadblocks, etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost. No bill will be reimbursed for any missed service/facility.
  • Because of any reason natural or personal, if the tour or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
  • Pay heed to the tour guides and instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound tour.
  • All entry tickets for stupas, monasteries, sightseeing, state and entry fees, monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc. are not a part of the package.
  • GST is applicable to the package cost.
  • Any personal expenses or items of personal nature will not be included in the package. Any meals or transfers not mentioned in the itinerary are to be considered an exclusion in the deal. Any kind of drink (alcoholic, aerated, or mineral water) is not included in the package cost.
  • Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations. Travellers littering may be fined.
  • Usage of the swimming pool at any accommodation is strictly according to government guidelines.
  • The exact location will be shared with you post-booking.
  • Carry dry snacks/food, granola bars, etc. from home. Carry a regular and another insulated water bottle with you, so that you can refill.
  • Carry enough cash as the number of ATMs in high-altitude regions are comparatively less and there are long queues at times.
  • Please note that BSNL and Airtel Postpaid mobile connections are operational and roaming Prepaid SIMs are non-functional in Ladakh.
  • We work with local guides and leaders who have the expertise of the region. They are fluent in Hindi and Ladakhi and at times even English.
  • All the travellers are requested to carry a copy of their medical certificate (if any) with them.
  • Optional activities mentioned in the itinerary are not actually included in the package cost.
  • Transportation during the trip would be in Non AC & Non-Heater vehicles. Please wear clothes according to the weather while travelling.
  • If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government is to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as valid address proof.

Day 1
Delhi to Pathankot (483 KM, 9 hrs)
  • On the first day of your Spiti valley jeep safari, you will begin the tour by hitting the road from Delhi to Pathankot.
  • You will cross Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and other regions of Punjab till you reach Pathankot.
Day 2
Pathankot to Bir; Soak into the skies at the 'Paragliding Capital of the World' (141 KM, 4 hrs)
  • Today it's time to head towards the mountains from Pathankot after your breakfast.
  • The Dhauladhar Ranges from Pathankot to Bir make the journey more picturesque.
  • Reach Bir's hotel, check-in to your hotel, and explore the quaint town on your own.
  • You can try your hands on mountain biking, hiking, and paragliding at an additional cost.
  • Come back to the hotel and have a delicious dinner.

Day 3
Bir To Khajjiar; Discover Chamunda Devi Temple, Khajjiar Lake, and Kalatop

Bairagarh - Sach Pass - Killar; Take an offbeat track of the deadly Sach Pass (67 KM, 3 hrs)
  • Get ready for an early breakfast and start early so that the challenges of the mighty Sach can be handled in a timely manner and we reach Killar before sunset.
  • There is no road all you have is gravel and sand and bumps and water crossings flowing right from the middle of the road.
  • The flow increases as the sun get brighter in the day so we start early and get lost in the beautiful adventure.
  • Check-in to your hotel at Killar and have a delicious dinner ending the day.

Day 6
Killar To Keylong; Soak in mesmerizing views of Pangi Valley (130 KM, 4 hrs)
  • After a light breakfast, it's time to head from Killar to Keylong.
  • Killar to Keylong is a remote route with a narrow path and no tarmac to ride.
  • You will find boulders and rocks falling from the mountain – residue and warning sign of shooting stones.
  • Reach Keylong and have a delicious dinner stargazing.
  • Overnight stay at the Keylong hotel/camps.
Day 7
Keylong to Chandratal; Admire the stunning crescent moon lake (101 KM, 3 hrs)
  • It's time to leave for a scenic and dangerous route towards Keylong after having an appetizing breakfast.
  • This place is a popular destination for nature-buffs, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts.
  • Spend a couple of days at Killar to explore the beautiful villages in Pangi Valley around Killar are Dharwas, Luj, Sural, Hundan, Findroo, Findar, Mindhal, Parmar, etc. to name a few.
  • Relish delightful dinner and enjoy stargazing at the Keylong.
  • Overnight at Killar in a hotel.
Day 8
Chandratal to Kaza; Discover majestic snow-covered mountains, bubbling rivers, picturesque landscape (100 KM, 3 hrs)
  • After having breakfast, we get ready as we are going to see the Lake called Chandra Tal, which is the source of the river “Chandra” which later confluences with the River “Bhaga” and flows with the name “Chandrabhaga”.
  • The lake is a high altitude lake situated at over 4200 M above sea level.
  • It is also the first day when you will enjoy a stay at the campsite.
  • Have dinner with some stargazing and sleep as tomorrow is a new adventure.
  • Overnight stay at the Chandra Tal campsite.
Day 9
Kaza Sightseeing
  • Today is that day when you can sleep a little more than usual and after breakfast, we will do some small excursions to places Hikkim, where the highest post office is located and you can also send a postcard from here as a memento.
  • Komic and Langza can also be visited today and we will do that.
  • If you want to opt-out of the ride and wish to spend the day just at the hotel or market you are free to do that.
  • We will have dinner and sleep early as tomorrow we enter the Kinnaur Valley.
  • Overnight stay at the Kaza hotel/guest-house.
Day 10
Kaza to Kalpa; Relish fresh apples from apple orchards of Kalpa (196 Km, 5 hrs)
  • Start early after breakfast as the distance to be covered is quite long though the road condition improves and the ride becomes more soothing,
  • Cross the towns of Tabo and Nako to reach Kalpa. A large part of the movie Sanam Re was shot here in Kalpa.
  • Drive across the Pin Valley forest area - Kalpa will give you tremendous peace just by looking and admiring the beautiful mountains and the wonders of mother earth.
  • Stay at a hotel where you will be served dinner.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11
Kalpa to Chitkul to Sangla (125 KM, 4 hrs)
  • Brace yourself as today is a special day and a special ride to the last village of India which is called Chitkul.
  • You will get to see a lot of India Army Jawans posted here and the settlements where they are deployed to serve the country.
  • The road is nice and the ride is smooth. The only thing that remains common is the beauty of Himachal Pradesh the hilly state of India.
  • Drive back to Sangla and stay in a hotel.
  • Overnight stay at Sangla.
Day 12
Sangla to Jibhi; Explore hidden treasure of Banjar Valley (190 KM, 6 hrs)
  • After passing through Kullu Valley, Chamba Valley, Pangi Valley via Sach Pass, we enter Lahaul Valley in Keylong, followed by Spiti Valley in Kaza. The ride further continues to Pin Valley in Tabo, Kinnaur Valley in Kalpa, and Reckong Peo. Finally, we leave the Kinnaur valley and set foot in Tirthan Valley.
  • Tirthan Valley is yet another very beautiful valley and here the jewel in the crown is the river which makes it that beautiful.
  • Spend the night in Jibhi and spend time enjoying as tomorrow is the last day of the trip.
  • Overnight stay at the Jibhi.
Day 13
Jibhi to Manali to Delhi (100 KM, 3 hrs)
  • The bus will drop you early morning to Delhi from where you can take your onward plans.
