Chadar Trek

As the name suggests, Chadar trek is famous for its blanket like the spread of ice, in the winter months, over the Zanskar River in Leh, Ladakh. This trek can be enjoyed in winters when the river has frozen. You can catch a glimpse of rocks beneath the ice while walking on this glorious path.

The trek starts at the initial of frozen Zanskar, from a small village of Chilling. The path to be travelled is quite long, a distance of 105 km is to be covered in one way.

Max Elevation:

This trek has a maximum elevation of 11,123 ft. above the sea, and thus, it is advisable to be climbed by professionals or trekkers with high fitness levels. You must be physically fit and trained to hike over this trek as it gets difficult and can even cause death in worst case scenarios.

It is one of the most difficult Himalayan treks situated in Leh, as you will be surrounded by white capped mountains of snow and chilling breeze. This trek is considered at an extreme level of difficulty to climb on.

Best Time/Season:

The best time to engage in a trekking experience on Chadar Trek is January to February when the temperature drops to about -30 and -40 degrees. Although February is taken as the most active month when the ice is in the most stable state.


Chadar Trek is well connected to the Zanskar village of Ladakh. You will be expected to start from Chilling Sumdo.  The trek goes along the Tsarap River in the region of Nyereg, Lingshed and constitutes to Zanskar!


Goecha La Trek

This could be possible in the winter months of October and November. However, these months are months of crisp and cold breeze in India, which can flip the situation for a trekker. Everest Base Camp Trek

You will be standing face to face with the world’s highest mountain, located in Nepal, India. This South Base Camp of Nepal can be reached by bus or taxi from Lukla Airport or Kathmandu Airport. This trek is used while trekking on the southeast ridge.


Kalindi Khal Trek

This trek is equally exhaustive so proper training should be taken before commencing the journey.

The peak can be trekked technically and non technically. In the months of July to September, this is still a safe trail to trek on, thus non technical trekkers can climb. However, in the winter months, it becomes a lot difficult to trek on these.


The Stok Kangri trek is located in the northwest region of India, in Ladakh. It is just 24 km from the Leh city and is near to the village of Stok. It is important for a trekker to adjust with the surroundings of this cold and dry place. This peak is situated in the Hemis National Park, southwest of the Stock village.

Roopkund Trek

Known as the ‘mystery lake’, one of the most challenging Himalayan treks, sits on the lap of Massif of Trishul. Also called as Skeleton Lake trek, as the trekker will come across lying skeletons on the sea bed or edge of the lake, known to be the remains of dead people from the 9th century.

The place is covered with snow in the summer season and you cannot see the skeletons.
