Summers are a perfect time to enjoy the mesmerizing view of this fantastic landscape. In the summers the weather is pleasant with clear skies and average temperature ranges between 15°C to 21°C.
April is the beginning of summer in the Garhwal Himalayas and the snow begins to melt. The temperature during the day is around 15°C with a pleasant breeze blowing every now and then. At night, however, it can still be quite chilly with temperatures dipping to 2°C to 3°C.
May is one of the most pleasant months to go trekking in Har Ki Dun. The weather is sunny, bright and really wonderful in the month of May. Day time temperatures can soar especially if it is sunny. It can go as high as 24°C during the day. But at night and early morning it drops down to around 10°C.
The last week of June marks the beginning of the monsoon season in the Garhwal Himalayas. The whole month shows a mix of slightly cool weather with bright sunny days. Har ki Dun weather shifts from warm to slightly cool with surprise showers in between. If you plan to go trekking during this time then do make sure to carry a light jacket with you.

This is the time when the valley is covered with lush greenery and colorful flowers. Expect surprise showers every now and then as you enjoy the magnificent landscape. The weather is cloudy and cool with temperatures fluctuating between 6°C to 20°C. If you are trekking the trails of Har ki Dun in the monsoons then keep a lookout for leeches and other insects.
July is the onset of the monsoon and Har ki dun offers some really exciting backdrop for trekking. It begins to rain more often but the trail is easy enough to trek on. You just need to be prepared with the right gears for trekking during this time. Har ki Dun weather in July is fabulous and you get to see the true beauty of this place. The temperature averages around 15°C to 20°C and the weather is cloudy with rain. At night it gets colder with the average temperature going down to about 6°C to 9°C.
August brings with it heavy rains and frequent showers. The misty weather turns the whole valley into an enchanting place. The river that passes right in the middle of the valley is now flowing with a roar and everywhere the greenery is dense and looks like an emerald carpet. During this time you will find Har ki Dun temperatures averaging at 16°C during the day and 7°C at night.

Har ki Dun offers a whole different plethora of colors and landscapes during the Autumn season. If you love photography then this is the best time to go on a trek to Har ki Dun. The lush greenery of post-monsoon rains, the billowing river, and majestic mountains make for some of the best trekking expeditions. Har ki Dun temperature averages around 13°C to 20°C during the day and around 2°C at night.
September the sun begins to shine bright again and the clouds begin to shift. Although the heavy rains are over, you should still be prepared for surprise showers. The temperature in September ranges between 15°C to 19°C during the day and drops to an average of 2°C to 3°C at night and early mornings.
October the rains are gone but the clouds are still there. If you are trekking at this time then do bring weather-appropriate clothes as it gets much colder now. The breeze blows a little colder and there is a nip in the air suggesting the advent of winter. Temperatures average at 11°C during the day and go down to -1°C at night. Although the scenery is really tempting and arresting, make sure you return to your campsite at dusk.

In November the temperature takes a deep plunge and reaches minus scale at night. The maximum day-time temperature during November reaches 13°C and the minimum temperature at night goes further down to -1°C.
In the month of December, the snow covers the valley in a soft white blanket and the whole scenery cannot be described in mere words. The average temperature during this time is 8°C during the day and it shows -11°C on the scale at night.

The best time to go for Har ki Dun is during winter and autumn. During winter months (November - March), the whole area gets covered under a thick blanket of snow making the surroundings simply ethereal. The river is frozen and the snow clad mountains glistening in the winter sun is absolutely indescribable.
Autumn months between September and October showcases the best of Har ki Dun’s natural beauty. Rain washed greenery, billowing river, colorful flowers and the majestic Himalayas in the background makes for some of the best sceneries you can find.
