Essential Information For Visiting Thailand For 10 Days

11

Visa Information

Thailand allows stays of up to 30 days for tourists, granting visa exemptions to a number of countries. You should apply for a tourist visa in advance for longer trips. Thailand's Visa on Arrival (VOA) program is available to Indian visitors and is valid for a stay of up to 15 days. Make sure your passport is good for at least six months after the dates of your trip.
12

Airports

Thailand’s major international airports that are well-connected to global destinations are-
  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok
  • Phuket International Airport (HKT)
  • Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX).
For domestic flights during the Thailand itinerary 10 days, smaller airports such as Krabi Airport (KBV) and Koh Samui Airport (USM) provide easy access.
13

Language

The official language of Thailand is Thai, and the country is home to around 51 indigenous and 24 non-indigenous languages. Alongside Thai, languages such as Malay, Khmer, and Lao are spoken, while major international languages like English, Chinese, and Burmese are spoken in urban areas. However, it is good if you learn basic Thai phrases before travelling like-
  • Hello: Sa-wat dee kap (if you're a man) Sa-wat dee kha (if you're a woman)
  • Goodbye: Lah Gorn (la-gon)
  • Thank You: Khop koon kap (if you're a man) Khop koon kha (if you're a woman)
  • How much?: Gee baht?
You can also use language apps or translation tools during your trip to communicate.
14

Getting around Thailand

Travelling within Thailand is easy due to its variety of transportation options. Domestic flights offer convenience for short-time travel, connecting major destinations. In cities like Bangkok, tut-tuk and motorbike taxis offer exciting ways to explore nearby places. While taxis are a convenient option, they require careful negotiation, wherein you can ensure that the meter starts at THB 35 or pre-arranged fares. If you are looking for budget-friendly travel over longer distances, opt for trains and buses. Ferries are the best and most seamless option for travelling between islands, linking places like Krabi, Phuket, and Koh Samui.
15

Money Transactions

Digital payment methods are available commonly in Thailand, however, cash remains essential, specifically for small vendors. It is advisable to carry a mix of cash, as having smaller denominations helps when negotiating at markets.

Mobile apps do work well for rides and food delivery, but cash is often significant for smaller purchases. While ATMs are available, their fees can be high. So, trying to limit withdrawals and usage of debit cards with no ATM fees is a better option. Despite the rise of digital payments, keeping some local currency is wise for emergencies or visits to less touristy areas.
16

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Thailand is during the months of November and February when the weather is pleasant with low humidity and cooler temperatures. This time is ideal for sightseeing and going for outdoor activities, however, it is also a peak tourist season, so destinations like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and beach areas will be crowded, and prices are higher than usual. If you want to explore during the less crowded time and don’t mind the heat, then you can visit from March to May. You can also visit during the rainy season which is from June to October. Throughout this time, you can witness heavy rainfall with fewer tourists.
17

Currency

The official currency of Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). During your Thailand itinerary for 10 days, you will find a number of currency exchange booths and ATMs in major tourist areas. Credit cards are accepted at major malls and larger establishments, but carrying cash is necessary for smaller transactions. However, it is advised to carry some cash for street vendors or while exploring local markets.
18

10 Days Trip Cost

A Thailand itinerary 10 Days may fit a variety of pricing ranges. If you are a budgeted traveller, then opting for affordable hotels and food might range between INR 35,000 to INR 50,000. For mid-range travellers, the cost will range from INR 50,000 to INR 1,00,000, taking advantage of boutique lodging and a range of dining options. If you are planning for a luxury trip, then the cost of the trip can range over 1,50,000 for premium resorts, fine dining, and exclusive activities. The amount accounts for accommodations, meals, transfers and places you will visit during the tour, ensuring a memorable experience.
19

Safety

Thailand is known to be safe for tourists, however, it is important to take precautions.
  • Be mindful of pickpockets whenever you are travelling in crowded areas, and consider carrying a cross-body bag for security.
  • Stay cautious with street food, no doubt they could be delicious, but choose vendors with good hygiene practices.
  • When travelling by taxi, insist on starting the meter at THB 35 or pre-arranged fares to avoid overcharging.
  • Research well in advance to steer clear of tourist scams, like long taxi routes or overpriced activities.
  • Keep yourself hydrated and apply sunscreen in order to prevent discomfort from the tropical sun.

Excellent
It should be a must in Bangkok visit, specially with kids. Hotel pickup service was fantastic, in time. Children enjoyed most the orangutan and dolphin shows. Better to skip the river cruise which I felt like wastage of money. The last part of coming out through the open zoo was fantastic- all openly moving animals including lions and tigers were roaming near the bus.

Excellent
The best experience of sea life till date. It overseeded my previous experience at underwater world pattaya. Getting tickets was hassle free - just show the QR code and get your ticket from Information Desk. Best feeding shows observed here. The sea otter feeding show was specially enjoyable with the otters asking for more food by shaking their hands above their chests. Next the penguin show, diver show, sea life 3D show, shark feeding show, etc. were awesome. You can chill around as it is cool inside with cafeteria everywhere. Those sharks in giant aquariums really amazed me and they are living in harmony with other fishes for the past 10 years (as learnt). The ambience was great with dim lights everywhere. A great place for kids to enjoy. There were numerous fishes as well, including the famous Giant of Siam - an Amazon fish.
Excellent
"awesome experience. with good food, breeze views. loved it."

Soumik Kumar Dey Safari World Bangkok Tickets
Excellent
Best jungle tour ever! Safari world is great where you can observe wildlife closely that includes birds, giraffes, rhinos, etc. The main attractions are tiger feeding and lion feeding inside safari world (which we were lucky to see) where a woman in the rear of the car inside a cage feeds the tigers and the lions from inside. As learnt only she can come near to them as they know her scent. It was nearly a half an hour tour through the jungle life and it was a thrilling experience. The Marine park was also great with many human and animal shows such as Orangutan show, Cowboy stunt show, Spy war, Bird show, etc. and the notable Dolphin show which was best among all. Guys please do not miss this show. The international buffet was also great with varieties of dishes though you can try out Indian buffet as well. Thanks to thrillophilia for making this trip memorable.

Excellent
This was a great experience and I found the cheapest ticket on Thrillophilia. There was no admission issue. When showing the voucher printout at ticket window, we found that they already had a list of online bookings and they verified our names against it and let us enter. The ocean tunnel was great - we saw sharks, sting rays, large fishes and "giant of siam" - huge fishes bigger than humans. the feeding shows were awesome! the sting rays were cute and the diver hugged them and fed them small shrimps. The fishes were fighting for the bread crumbs and small fishes that the diver was feeding. It was worth visiting and truly a memorable experience. It may not be as big as the Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World in Bangkok but the price is really very cheaper than it. A must visit for anyone visiting Pattaya.

A beautiful piece of island standing Rock solid as if it's the admirer of every one else staring at him. The place is beautiful yet remote and hence it closes by evening and the island becomes completely out of reach.
