Five Lakes Walk

Eiger Trail

The panoramic beauty of tall glaciers looking over the Grindelwald valley offers the most euphoric view in Switzerland. Hiking the steep north face of Eiger mountains is not for the faint-hearted as it requires great sure-footedness and perseverance.
Although it is not a piece of cake to ascend up to the famous rock face also known as the “last problem of Alps ”, the difficult areas on the way are secured with ropes to help climbers.

The hike to the Saas Fee is often referred to as the “path to silence” for the tranquil aura of the summit. The Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge

The bridge gives you the chill of almost walking in the thin air above the deep green forest. But, this suspension bridge is a small part of the adventure in the valley. You have to trace a circular trail all the way up to the mountain and the suspension bridge.
The hike starts from the little town of Randa from where you set your trail into the woods. There will be signs and markers to guide you as you zig-zag your way amidst the tall trees to the suspension bridge. In the far distance, you will also be able to admire the snow-capped alpine mountains and spectacular greenery.

Oeschinensee Lake

Uina Gorge

The high alpine trail from Slingia/Schlinig to the Uina Gorge begins with the Watles chairlift. The hike continues from the base station to the mesmerizing Schlinigtal valley and covers the Sesvennahutte.
From here, the trail through the rocky mountain leads to the Schlinigpass and then to the Swiss Border and finally descends to Uina Gorge. On the way, you can take a tea break and revive at the Slingia/Schlinig village. There are sprawling alpine pastures to where the eye can see. An overnight stay and dining facility is also available for the hikers.

Saint-Luc To Zinal

As you start the hike from here, the land is decorated like the solar system. Each meter here signifies 1 million km in space. As you proceed to the end of the hike, you come across the historic sites of the valley.
Hotel Weisshorn is your first stop, with an isolated viewpoint this historic hotel is accessible to tourists. From here you trail down to the Zinal village that has ancient sun-drenched houses and a spectacular museum that exhibits rustic souvenirs.

Around The Gastlosen

You can find some shops and grab snacks for your long hike ahead. The first stop on this circular trail is the Chalet du Soldat which offers gawking views of Switzerland. Next is to climb the steep rocks to reach Worfs Ort for getting the most enticing views.
From this point at Worfs Ort, in order to get back to the chairlift station, you have to walk downhill past the Gastlosen. This part of the hike is undoubtedly the best in the whole trek as you can see the marvelous Bernese Alps on the sides.
