About the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast:
The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a well-known wildlife park in the southern Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia. It was opened in 1947. Alex Griffiths, who kept bees, started the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary to protect his yard and bring in lorikeets. It has now turned into a full-fledged wildlife sanctuary and tourist attraction and has one of the largest groups of native Australian animals. It also has interactive exhibits, such as the Lost Valley, which is home to exotic animals like red pandas, lemurs, and capybaras. Every day, it hosts wildlife shows like free-flight bird shows and reptile feeding sessions. The sanctuary does more than just teach people about wildlife and attract tourists, it also runs a state-of-the-art wildlife hospital where sick and injured animals can get care and get better.
