Himachal is a land of wonders and a great proof of that is the untouched wonder of the Himalayas, the Spiti Valley. The remote region in the rain shadow side of the Himalayas is so serene and still natural that you can still see all of the stars in the night sky on a clear day. And to explore the highlights of this wild region, the best way is to embark on a jeep safari of Spiti Valley. This 3-day tour takes you through the best of the region, which includes the bewitchingly beautiful lake of Chandra Taal, The moon lake. The blue waters of the lake are set against the barren mountains of the region.
About the activity:
After arriving in Manali, you will be taken for a stay in the guest house
The rest of the day is for you to spend at your leisure. You can choose to hit the local markets or see temples of Hadimba and Vashisht
Starting early this morning after breakfast, the ride begins to cross the Rohtang Pass
As soon as you cross the pass, you will notice the terrain change from green to barren brown and dusty, with tall mountains covered with snow towering over the land.
By the early evening hours, the tour will reach the campsite at Chandratal
Overnight and dinner at the Chandratal camps
Wake up to the beautiful lake and take a 4 km long walk around the Chandratal. The tranquil lake is famous for behaving like a mirror to the mountains around, a photographer's paradise.
After spending some time at the lake, you will then leave for Manali in the morning so we can arrive in Manali by afternoon to end the trip

We arrived at Manali around 6 or 7 in the morning and after we had chai and bun maska in a tiny stall at the bus stand, we called the representative who was supposed to attend us. When we called he seemed to be busy somewhere because he did not receive the call. Minutes later, we got a call from him, when we told him that we have arrived he came to the stand. Although it was early morning and he informed that the check into our guest house was later in the day, the representative did not leave us hanging he suggested some temples and riverside hang out points to visit while he is making the arrangements and kill the buffer time. We were happy to see him make arrangements and not just put us away. The next day we embarked on the much-awaited Spiti jeep safari and it was one of the best journeys in Himachal I have ever done. Great initiatives by team. Thanks.

I loved my trip to the beautiful Chandratal and I am planning to come back here with my friends again. I started solo from Delhi and got bored in Manali, just wanted to do something adventurous and searched online. I first thought of rafting but then I got this deal on Thrillophilia and felt like trying. As lucky as I can be, there was the availability of seats in the safari leaving the next day and I got one. I made friends, clicked pictures, took pit stops at several waterfalls. Interacted with a bunch of strangers, fellow travelers around the Bonfire, laughed and talked. Such an amazing place for night photography. All in all, big thanks to Thrillophilia for accommodating last minute and making fine arrangements. Recommended!

Like most of the bikers and travelers, I also wanted to do the Spiti and Chandratal tour on a bike but I kept waiting and my friends made the bookings to this deal. I was not very convinced that I wanted to take jeep safari instead of a bike ride but I went anyway. And I can not describe how equally adventurous it is to be crossing umpteenth number of waterfalls and driving your wheels on river beds. It is one experience to be done with friends. There were turns and patches on the road where we screamed our lungs out. This is one safari which feels like a roller coaster ride with magical landscapes. Great tour operators were guiding at all points. Knew all about the lands and terrains. Love it!

This deal was my dream ride to Spiti valley and I am so happy that it met my expectation. The Spiti jeep safari showed me high mountain pass, ravishing river and river beds, gorgeous waterfalls on almost every turn, and the famous moon Lake- Chandratal. The deal is so well-priced and planned. The visit to the high altitude moon lake explores a divine side of the Himachal. Loved it fully!

The moon lake is a wonder, so beautiful, so still and captivating. I am glad I took this deal, it is totally worth paying such a minimal amount of having a jeep safari on the bumpy roads and the deadly turns and accommodation with delish food. I cherish my time at the camp near Chandratal.

Tents were small but were enough to spend a freezing night, we woke up to a glorious morning surrounded by snow-clad peaks and then we trekked for another half-an-hour to reach the Lake. All in all was fun and saw some real beauty of Himachal.

It is such a great deal for Delhites, you can take an overnight bus and reach Manali and then the tour starts. We had an awesome time when we were in Manali, the next day when we left for Chandratal, we had to suffer hours waiting in the jam at the highway around Rohtang pass. The enthusiasm was almost dead by the time the jam was cleared.But, mind you, the landscapes of this trip made up for all the loss and soon we forgot it all. It is a dreamy and magical ride to Spiti and words fail to describe the beauty of the high altitude moon lake!! Nicely created!!
