Jakhu Temple

Here one can satiate the hunger of peace, as the environs are too quiet and well-suited to rediscover oneself.

Timings: The temple opens in two slots from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Entry fees: There is no entry fee to enter the temple.

Location: It is situated at a distance of about 11 kms from Shimla and can be visited while travelling on the Kalka - Shimla National Highway. The temple is set at the top of the hill in Shimla with lush green environs surrounding it giving the restaurant a very peaceful as well as tranquil atmosphere.

The wooden temple embellished with wooden bands and Chinese style carvings gets a full rating mostly by every traveller. It is believed to be the place where the Pandavas cooked their meals during the exile period. “Bheem chulha” the two hearthstones are still found near the temple.
Because of its marvelous location, the temple is also an amazing trek destination. It also lures bikers for its 360-degree view of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and the twisty uphill ride. It is one of the most frequented places to visit in Narkanda.

Location: Primarily, the Kali bari this temple was initially located at the Jakhu hill. Presently, the temple is located at the Kali Bari Road, Shimla. The British brought it to its new site.
Highlights: The Kali Bari temple of Simla is said to be an exceptionally religious place of India. It is believed that anyone who visits Shimla should never miss out on visiting this temple. The temples houses a shrine of the Hindu Goddess Shyamala. Shyamala is believed to have multiple aliases like Durga and Kali.

Bhimkali Temple

As the name suggests, the temple is dedicated to the goddess Bhimkali, who was worshipped majorly by the previous rulers of Bushahr. One can get to see beautiful wood carvings, as they take a tour around this beautiful shrine.
Location: Sarahan, Narkanda, Himachal Pradesh. About 180kms from Shimla.

Sankat Mochan Temple

Apart from worship, tourists also visit this spot to experience the calm atmosphere, and the lush-green natural beauty that surrounds the place. The view of the Himalayn range from this spot is just breathtaking.
Location: Bagh, Taradevi, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Approximately 5kms away from Shimla.

Dhingu Mata Temple
Additionally, the food served at the temple is delicious. So you can be sure that along with an amazing view, you will get a treat as well, on reaching the top.
Location: Bhattakufer Road, Dhingu Bawri, Sanjauli, Shimla; opposite Sanjauli-Dhalli Tunnel. Approximately 5kms from Shimla.
Shiv Mandir
One can trek to reach the temple, because that is a more adventurous way to go about it, if you really want to enjoy your trip to Shiv Mandir. Once you trek through the caves, and reach the destination, you will feel everything around you turn peaceful. If you listen very carefully, then you will also be able to hear the noise of the Cicada’s quite clearly.
Location: 4kms away from Solan District (Arki), Shimla.
Mahu Nag Temple
If you enroute Shimla-Mandi, then you are sure to come across this temple, as it lies midway. On one side it has the Karsog Valley, and the other side you will be able to get an exquisite view of the Himalayas. The best time to visit this temple is from Feb to November.
Location: Nearest Town Karsog is 25kms away. At a distance of 97kms from Shimla.
Shoghi Hanuman Temple
Apart from the statue of Lord Hanuman, one gets a fascinating view after having climbed approximately 100 steps. If you want to get re-energised, and want to refresh your mind, then a visit to this temple, early in the morning, is highly recommended.
Location: Small Town named Shoghi, approximately 16kms ride from Shimla.
