Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit
Ranging around NPR 2000, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance permit was appointed on 1st of October, 2018 and replaced the old TIMS card. For Indian citizens, the price of this permit is 50% less than other foreigners and this amount is taken directly by the local government.
To get Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit, you need your passport details, as, without it, you won't be able to gain access. The point to be noted here is that you cannot get this permit at Kathmandu. However, it can be obtained from the town of Lukla if you are starting your trek from there.
Also, there are multiple local entry permit points around the entrance from where you can get the permit. If trekking from Jiri or Salleri, this permit can be obtained from Village Monjo. Also, if staying in a hotel, you can request your hotel reception to get the confirmation for your permit details as, without it, you won't be able to gain access.

Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
The route towards Everest goes through Sagarmatha National Park, having dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys. The Entry Permit ranging about NPR 3000 for each foreigner is priced NPR 1500 for every Indian traveller. To get this permit, you are required to carry two passport size photographs and a copy of your Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance permit.
Being available at Nepal tourism board office, Kathmandu and the Sagarmatha National park entrance in Monjo, the most convenient way to obtain the pass is to take it at the gate only. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit is the second most crucial permit that needs to be taken before trekking Mount Everest.

Additional Permit for Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek
If you are taking the Jiri to Everest Base Camp trail, you will need to take one more permit for the Gaurishankar Conservation Area. You can get this additional permit either at Shivalaya Checkpoint or directly from the Nepal Tourism Board. If taken from Nepal Tourism board, this pass cost around NPR 2000 per person.
But, if you consider taking it from the Shivalaya checkpoint, the price doubles, i.e., NPR 4000. However, the prices are always 50% lower than the original for Indian citizens. You are required to bring two passport-sized photos with you and the officer may also ask you to fill up some forms at Shivalaya checkpoint.

Required Documents for Trekking Permits
From Passports to valid visa sufficient to cover trekking days, there are a number of documents that need to be handy while taking permits to trek the Everest base camp.Most importantly, you are required to have your Passport and passport size photographs.

Also, if you want to trek towards the Everest advanced base camp, you need to get another permit known as Mountaineering License (Everest climbing permit) which is issued by Tibet Mountaineering Association.
