About the Destination: 

Yamuna Valley is a spectacular destination in Uttarakhand that holds great significance for the Hindus. The Yamuna river is considered the second largest tributary of the Ganga, and it originates from the Yamunotri Glacier. It is about 1,376 km long, and it has several canals in the Indo-Gangetic Plain.

You can have breathtaking views of the snow-capped range covering Panchachuli Group, Nanda Devi, Trishuli from Yamuna valley. Gulabi Kantha Trek is an easy to moderate trek in Yamuna valley in Uttarakhand, located at an altitude of three thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine meters above the sea level. 

About the Gulabi Kantha Trek: 

Gulabi Kantha lies on the way to a freshwater lake trek, also known as Dodital. It is covered by lush green meadows, wildflowers, deodorant trees, Oak, and a wide variety of flora and fauna and gives the trekkers a chance to witness the greatest spectacle of nature.

Gulabi Kantha Trek is located at an altitude of approx twelve thousand (12,000) feet above sea level and provides a breathtaking view of The Himalayan range, such as Kalindi Sirkala, Bandar Poonch peak, Chaukhamba peaks, and Shivalik mountains. The region offers various adrenaline rushing activities all year round. 

Gulabi Kantha Trek is a low altitude mountain trek, which takes around 5 days to complete, including travels, stays and the actual activity. Lesser-known to trekking enthusiasts in spite of lying in the route of Dodital trek. The Indo Tibetan border police force team recently visited this trekking destination to know about the possibilities to develop it for various winter games such as snow bowling, skiing, and other games. 

Gulabi Kantha Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Reach Hanuman Chatti

Begin your first day by reaching Hanuman Chatti, which is the base camp of Gulabi Kantha Trek. Hanuman Chatti is the starting point of more than seven to eight treks like Fachu Kandi pass, Bali pass trek, etc., and it is also an important part of Char- Dham.

You’ll be briefed about the logistics and other important details of the trek, beforehand. You can also visit the Holy Shrine Yamunotri Temple at your own expense after the trek. The temple is five kilometres away from Janki Chatti, and it remains open in April-May and closes in October-November.

After that, you’ll have organic dinner, and you can enjoy the bonfire. You can also exchange funny and meaningful conversations with your travel buddies to make your trip even more memorable.

Day 2
Trek to Seema Thatch (10 km) (3400 Meter)

Begin your second day of Gulabi Kantha Trek by having a scrumptious breakfast and then pack your bag to Trek to Seema Thatch, which is a ten-kilometre long trek. You’ll trek through the thick carpet of pine and maple leaves and dense forests, and you’ll get a chance to witness the beauty of nature during the expedition.

Once you reach Kandola (2:00 pm), you’ll be served lunch. After having your lunch, you’ll continue your journey, and you’ll reach Seema thatch at 4:00 pm. You’ll check into your luxurious tents, and you’ll be served tea with snacks. You’ll also get a chance to enjoy the sunset, and you’ll have dinner at 7 pm.



Day 3
Trek to Gulabi Kantha and back (3,789 Meter) back to camp (8 km)

On the third day of the tour, you’ll have your breakfast, and you’ll move towards Gulabi Kantha (at 8:00 am), which is a five-kilometre long trek. Once you reach Gulabi Kantha (around 1 pm), you’ll be served packed lunch. You can explore the region and enjoy the breathtaking view of snow-clad mountain ranges such as Kalindi srikala, Bandar Poonch peak, Chaukhamba peaks, and Shivalik mountains.

You can also click beautiful pictures if you’re carrying your photo gear to register the memories of this expedition forever in your memory lane. Your operator will also tell you about the ancient tales of Indian mythology and how the locals live their life in such tough conditions over here. After having the tea, you’ll have to assemble at the Seema thatch camp area to have dinner with local wine.



Day 4
Move back to Hanuman Chatti (10 km: 4/5 Hours)

You’ll move from Seema thatch to Hanuman Chatti after having your breakfast on the fourth day of Gulabi Kantha Trek. Delectable lunch will be served to you at around 1 pm, and then you’ll reach Hanuman Chatti, which is the base camp of this trek, at 4:00 pm.

You can share the experience of your expedition with your fellow group members and the management, and if you have any pieces of advice, you can let your operator know. You’ll have dinner at around 7 pm, and you’ll enjoy the bonfire and soothing music. 

Day 5
Depart from Hanuman Chatti

On the fifth day of Gulabi Kantha Trek, you’ll depart to Dehradun from Hanuman Chatti, taking back lovely memories of the trip. You’ll then be dropped by our team at the railway station from where you’ll board the train and return back to your hometown. The memories of this trip will remain deeply imprinted in your memory lane forever.
