About Collaroy Beach

The Collaroy beach is perfect for family and water sports junkies as it has excellent swimming, windsurfing and surfing conditions along with an ocean pool that is perfect for small kids.

There is an enclosed playground close to the beach that has barbecue facilities, a Rock pool and a wheelchair accessible playground. The playground has specially designed amenities such as Liberty Swing for wheelchair users, interactive water displays, slides, spinner, all inclusive accessible carousel and a lot more making the beach ideal for every kind of visitor.

The enclosed playground is safe for small kids and is definitely a place where families with small children can take their kids, the barbeque area is open for everybody and can be used any time of the day. The beach is good for swimming and during low tides kids can also enter the water to play, but during high tides it is best if you keep young children out of the water. During high tides it is best that children play in the rock pool which is calmer and safer for them.

The beach got its name from a steamer that got stuck here named Collaroy after which a Safety Surfing Club was created. The beach is surrounded by relaxing bars and many fine dining restaurants that serve various different kinds of meals. Overall the beach is one of the best places to spend a day for everyone.
