  • The Mayali Pass trek starts from Ghuttu, a beautiful village located at an altitude of 1524 m and settled along the Bhilangana River in the scenic landscapes of the Garwhal region. 
  • The main attraction of the trek is the Mayali Pass which is situated at an astonishing height of 17,000 ft. and offers breathtaking views of surrounding mountain ranges.
  • You will trek through the Deoland village, famous for its lush green pastures which offer the perfect location for a photography session with your loved ones.

Mayali Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Transfer from Rishikesh to Ghuttu

On the first day of your Mayali Pass Trekking tour, you will leave for Ghuttu from the city of Rishikesh. Ghuttu village is located at an approximate distance of around 138 kilometers from Rishikesh and it will take you about 8 to 9 hours to reach there. Upon arriving at Ghuttu, you will check-in your hotel and rest overnight.

Day 2
Trek from Ghuttu to Reehi

Your Mayali Pass Trek will actually start from the second day. On this day, you will trek to Reehi village, which lies 7 to 8 kilometers uphill from Ghuttu. The trail will take you through the village of Deolang, whose lush green landscape will offer you a spectacular postcard-perfect scenery to soak in. You will reach Reehi by evening and check-in a GMVN rest house or stay in a tent overnight.


Day 3
Trek from Reehi to Gangi

On the third day, you will hike the 12 kilometers trek to Gangi village from the village of Reehi. After the first one hour of your climb, you will reach Buranschauri, from where you will cover a trekking trail of another 2 to 3 hours to finally arrive at Gangi, which is located at an elevation of around 2,500 meters above sea level. Once you reach Gangi village, you will rest overnight in your tent.   


Day 4
Trek from Gangi to Kharsoli

The fourth day is reserved for trekking from Gangi village to Kharsoli, which is located around 15 kilometers away. This trekking trail will take you through the beautiful Deokhri Channi, which serves as a winter encampment for the Gangi villagers. You will also trek through spellbinding lush forestry before finally arriving at the charming meadow of Khasoli, where you will rest overnight in your tent.

Day 5
Trek from Kharsoli to Chowki

Early morning, on the fifth day, you will start your trek from Kharsoli to Chowki, which is located 12 kilometers away, at a height of around 4,000 meters above sea level. Upon arriving at Chowki village late in the afternoon, you will camp by the serene Doodh Ganga river and spend the night in your tent.

Day 6
Trek from Chowki to Masar Tal

On this day, you will first take a few kilometers uphill and then descend to the beautiful Masar Tal, which is situated at a height of around 3,000 meters above sea level. Once you reach here after a downhill journey of around 5 to 6 hours, you can pitch your tent by the calm lake and spend the rest of your day soaking in the picturesque scenery.

Day 7
Trek from Masar Tal to Vasuki Tal via Mayali Pass

Early in the morning of the seventh day, you will cover a trekking trail of around 3 kilometers and visit the gorgeous Vasuki Tal, which lies at an elevation of about 4800 meters above sea level. Once you reach Vasuki Tal after an uphill journey of about 6 to 7 hours, you can pitch your tent by the photogenic lake and spend the remaining part of your day basking in the breathtaking wilderness.

Day 8
Trek from Vasuki Tal to Kedarath

This day will be all about a trekking tour to the religious town of Kedarnath, which is located at an approximate distance of 5 kilometers from Vasuki Tal. Once you reach Kedarnath after a climb of around 3 to 4 hours, you will explore the temple and rest overnight in a guesthouse there.

Day 9
Trek from Kedarnath to Gaurikund

After breakfast, you will cover a downhill trek of 14 kilometers to reach Gaurikund from Kedarnath. Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Gaurikund.

Day 10
Transfer from Gaurikund to Rishikesh

Your Mayali Pass Trek will come to an end on this day and you will leave for Rishikesh from Gaurikund after a piping hot breakfast. You will reach Rishikesh in the afternoon, after a journey of 8 to 9 hours. From here, you will proceed on your way back home.
