Trip Location: Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is one of the most important locations in the Ramayana history. Explore the history of Ramayana and the captive life of Seetha Devi.

About the activity:
Grab the chance to the history of Ramayana and the captive life of Seetha Devi during this one-day tour. You will be picked up from the hotel. Firstly visit Gayathri Peedam, the temple built for Gayathri Amman (Gayatri being an aspect of Saraswati and the Universal Mother) in Sri Lanka. 
After that visit Diurumpola Temple, the Sinhalese name Divurumpola means ‘the place of oath’. This is the place where Seetha Devi underwent Agni Pariksha to prove her chastity. Enjoy lunch at a local favorite restaurant. The next destination is Seetha Eliya and Seetha Amman temple. The place has footmarks of the monkey god Hanuman. Now visit Ashok Vatika, is a garden, located in Seeta Eliya.  According to the Ramayana, Seeta was kept in this garden when she refused to stay in Ravana's magnificent palace.

    09:00 am: You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to visit Gayathri Peedam.

    10:15 am: Visit Diurumpola Temple.

    12:30 pm: Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant.

    01:30 pm: Proceed to Seetha Eliya and visit Seetha Amman temple.

    02:30 pm: After visiting Seetha Amman Temple, visit Ashok Vatika.

    02:00 pm: You will be taken back to your hotel.
