Classic Peninsular Malaysia Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival
  • Begin your holiday in the colorful capital of Kuala Lumpur. Gain a sense of Malaysia’s patriotism as you visit Merdeka Square or “Independence Square.” You will also see the Sultan Abdul Samad Building where the office of the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture is located. See a traditional-style Malay neighborhood in Kampung Baru, an area that’s maintained it’s modest original build. Visit the Central Market and continue onto the ancient Sze Ya Temple - Kuala Lumpur's oldest Chinese temple.
  • Peruse the Petaling Street Market and make your way to Chan See Shu Yuen Temple, affectionately and appropriately referred to as “the Green Temple” for it’s vibrant decor. Visit the world’s largest butterfly park, covering over 80,000 square feet. Lake Gardens Butterfly Park is home to over 5,000 vivacious butterflies. After your full day touring, relax in luxury in your executive suite at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where you will have every modern convenience at your disposal.
Day 2
Kuala Lumpur
  • The second day of your adventure kicks off with a stop at Kuala Lumpur’s National Visual Arts Gallery. With over 4,000 pieces of work collected from all over Asia, you will leave feeling artistically diversified.
  • Next, continue your cultural experience by stopping by the National Museum and viewing several Malay treasures displayed for the public. End the day by heading underground and observing marine wildlife at Aquaria KLCC, a 60,000-square-foot aquarium.
Day 3
Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands
  • Enjoy the lush, natural countryside on a 3.5-hour drive to the Cameron Highlands. Here, you’ll check into the Cameron Highlands Resort which has been named one of the “five best tea plantation hotels in the world.” Take a private tour of the nearby Boh Tea Plantations’ grounds and facilities. Savor a cup of perfectly-made tea as you learn about the process of producing the popular beverage. That afternoon, enjoy a leisurely hike through the Highland’s rainforest.
Day 4
Cameron Highlands - Penang
  • Depart the Cameron Highlands and fly to Penang via Kuala Lumpur, or drive directly to Penang from the Cameron Highlands. Arrive in the cultural Mecca of Malaysia and enjoy an authentic Indian meal served hot on banana leaves in Little India.
  • Take a stroll down Lover’s Lane and snap a picture of the street art the city is so famous for. Lover’s Lane is so charmingly coined from once being a prostitution street. Marvel at the clan jetties built on Weld Quay dating back to the 9th-century. After your stroll, unwind at the historical, elegant Eastern and Oriental Hotel in your premier suite.
Day 5
Penang
  • Check out some low-key Indie art galleries featuring undiscovered Malay artists with options of seeing the State Art Gallery, the Alpha Utara Gallery, Galeri Seni Mutiara, Galeri Art Point and the Penang Malay Art Gallery. The Kapitan Keling Mosque exemplifies Muslim heritage within the city and is a site to behold with it’s red, onion-shaped domes. Pay the Snake Temple a visit where snakes slither freely - but not to worry - their venom has been removed.
Day 6
Penang
  • Tour the Cheong Fatt Tze mansion, a beautiful cobalt house once home to the Chinese merchant Cheong Fatt Tze. The building won UNESCO’s “Most Excellent Project” preservation award in 2000. Take a short hike up Penang Hill and enjoy the view below - you may even cross paths with a wild boar, civet, monkey, tree shrew, bat or a flying lemur!
Day 7
Penang - Langkawi
  • Fly to Langkawi, part of a cluster of 99 islands off the mainland of Malaysia. Spend a blissful day in paradise as you lounge seaside and soak up the sun’s warm rays. After a busy week exploring Peninsular Malaysia, this is the perfect ending to your holiday. The Four Seasons Langkawi is the ideal hotel for ultimate pampering and unwinding.
Day 8
Langkawi
  • Spend the day snorkeling, swimming and sunning. If you’re feeling active, explore one of the island’s many lovely beaches. Take a ride along the coast - the island is only 193-square-miles and is easily-navigated. Kick off your shoes and dive into island living, where time and obligation are foreign concepts
Day 9
Langkawi
  • Revel in the last day of your beach oasis before returning to the rest of the world. Those looking for adventure can choose from several treks, a hike to the Telaga Tujuh Waterfall and dolphin swimming excursions. But if you don’t care to move from your novel or the pristine cushion of white sand, we won’t force you to.
Day 10
Departure
  • Thus ends your cultural experience and time in paradise. It’s time to fly home - we hope to host your next getaway!
