Krishnapuram Palace was constructed in the 18th century by Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma, the monarch of the ancient princely state of Travancore, in the district of Alappuzha in Kerala, near the town of Kayamkulam. After Kayamkulam was conquered and incorporated into Travancore, he erected it. The palace is located in the village of Krishnapuram, near the Sree Krishnaswamy Temple, and can be reached through NH 47 between the cities of Ochira and Kayamkulam.

With thatched low roofs, narrow corridors, heavy doors, and dormer windows, Krishnapuram Palace is built in the traditional architectural style of Kerala.
