Visa Requirements for Sydney Trip

If you are an Indian citizen planning to visit Australia, you need a valid visa. Various visa types exist, each tailored to specific purposes and lengths of stay. The Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601) permits multiple visits for up to a year, with a three-month stay for each visit, available to specific passport holders living outside Australia. This requires an application through the Australian ETA app and a live facial image.

Applying for the Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601) is exclusive to the ETA app. Other visas require an online application through ImmiAccount, necessitating ample processing time. Applicants might need to provide additional information, and approved visas are digitally linked to their passports.

Extensions are possible for certain visas, except for the eVisitor (subclass 651). Visitors already holding a valid Electronic Travel Authority visa (subclass 601) can apply for an extension through alternative visas like the Visitor visa (subclass 600). Detailed visa information and application procedures are available on the Department of Home Affairs website.
