What makes Kyoto a must-visit destination?

Encompassed by the hills of the Central Honshu, Kyoto is one of the largest cities of Japan. It is also the educational hub of western japan that is brimming with several higher educational establishments and universities. Despite being one of the principal tourist destinations of Japan, Kyoto has very well managed to preserve a major chunk of the atmosphere of the past. It is also one of the only major Japanese city to have escaped the wrath of World War II.

Famed as the principal cultural center of Japan for over 1100 years and as the residence of the emperor, Kyoto at present flaunts several fine examples of paintings and sculptures along with a variety of other art forms in the several galleries and museums of the city. The city is also a home to the centuries old architecture, majority of which is influenced by Buddhism. This is very well preserved in the several well preserved temples of the city. Kyoto continues to play a quintessential role in the Japanese religion with about 30 of the city’s temples which serve as principal centres of the different Buddhist sects along with some 200 Shinto shrines which lie within the city limits.

The weather was nature’s best with cherry blossom blooms everywhere and we went at the right time to enjoy them.   There should be more communication between Thrillophilia n local agencies coz of very little spoken English in Japan.  In future the itenary should be rechecked before the customer travels to make sure the timing, vehicle are all right so the customer doesnt face problem as We had problem for both.  It was resolved but we lost a lot of time n missed a few places to visit.  Thank u.  Shyla Rajiv

It was an amazing fun trip to Japan!! Which was seemlessly curated by Thrillophilia team especially Karthik and Vidhi who assisted in planning the itinerary and setting the dates and times for everyday in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. The trip was very well planned and we enjoyed a lot. We left Bangalore on 10th June and reached Tokyo on 11th June 2025, the airport to hotel transfers and the hotels booking were taken care very well by the team. The days tours were organised for our experience which we enjoyed a lot every single day. The highlight of our trip was the Disney land tour in Tokyo!! The day was mesmerising on its own. We had real fun. The days in Osaka were really good as well and we didn’t want this trip to end so soon. Overall I would send my best rating to Thrillophilia and team for organising this trip for us and curating it the way we wanted. They did an amazing job!! I would definitely plan my next trip with them. Thank you for their entire team for organising our Japan trip in 2025.
