Situated above the ancient Thal Ghat in Maharashtra’s Igatpuri taluka, Tringalwadi Fort is a scenic and historically rich place in the Western Ghats. Built in 1594 CE during the Nizam Shahi dynasty, the fort once supervised crucial trade routes between Nashik and the Konkan coast. Surrounded by misty hills and lush forests, Tringalwadi Fort provides a peaceful escape for trekkers and history fans.

At the base of the fort, you will find a beautiful Jain temple with a sanctum that houses the idol of Tirthankara Rishabhanatha and a large sabha mandapa. A single rock was used to carve the western entrance of the fort, which features an idol of Hanuman and intricate Sharabha patterns. There are rock-cut water cisterns, a temple dedicated to Goddess Bhavani, and the remains of ancient buildings inside. The semi-circular bastions provide beautiful views of the whole area, particularly during monsoon season.
