Storkyrkan

Alternatively known as Storkyrkan, this cathedral is located next to Stockholm’s Royal Castle in the city’s old town and is more than 750 years old. The cathedral was originally Roman Catholic, but it was later converted to Lutheran during the Reformation Age. It was originally dedicated to St Nicholas of Myra and was built in Gothic style in the 13th century. As time went by the cathedral was further developed and its interiors were made to look more elaborate and grand.

The most impressive piece of architecture in the cathedral was that of a wooden structure that depicts the legend of Saint George and the dragon.
