Ram Jhula in Rishikesh is a suspension bridge built over the Ganges. Being a 230-meter-long and 2-meter-wide suspension bridge built in 1986, it links the Sivananda Ashram to Parmarth Niketan, making it a spiritual and scenic pathway. While walking on this bridge, visitors are surrounded by stunning views of the river, mountains, and temple from nearby ashrams. Walking over Ram Jhula is a perfect way to experience both the calm as well as the spiritual rhythm of nature, making it one of the top places to visit in Rishikesh.

There are street vendors, old and new restaurants, cafes, and shops in the nearby area to fulfill all your needs while visiting. The Ram Jhula is vehicle-free, which makes it perfect for walking. Whether you’re moving forward towards Triveni Ghat to attend Ganga aarti, neighbouring ashrams to participate in yoga sessions, or enjoying riverside chai, this bridge connects you to the soul of Rishikesh.

Ram Jhula Best Time to Reach

The best time to visit Ram Jhula and to take full advantage of its natural beauty and spiritual serenity is between the months of February and May. Since Ram Jhula is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and on the River Ganga, the weather is always suitable for a visit throughout the year.

However, the summers are hot and dry and the temperature can soar up to 40 degrees Celsius. The winters are comparatively more enjoyable. It is advisable to avoid the monsoon season, as the rains may hinder sightseeing and other sports like river rafting and roads can become slippery and dangerous for treks.
