Popularly known as the Kondotty mosque, this 500-year-old Pazhayangadi mosque is a pilgrimage centre, making it one of the most religious places to visit in Kerala for Muslims. It stands as a timeless tribute to Mohammed Shah and is associated with Kondotty Thangal, the Muslim saint from Persia. You can admire the Mughal architecture of the mosque, constructed using white marble, with a large dome, surrounded by lush green hills
Moreover, you can attend the annual week-long festival known as Kondotty Nercha or Valiya Nercha, held during February-March, attracting believers to participate in the festival. Events in the festivals include music concerts performed by local artists, local food stalls, handicrafts and traditional jewellery shops. This mosque stands among the most revered Muslim pilgrimage centres in the state and attracts devotees year-round.
