The first floor of the Museo Galileo features nine rooms that are solely dedicated to famous Medici collections. These belong from the early 15th century to the 18th century.
It also features Galileo's used telescope and objective lens, which were used to discover Jupiter's Galilean moon. Besides this, there are other unique artefacts preserved here for centuries.

Museo Galileo devoted his life to Science. In order to fulfil his dreams, it conducted deep research to analyse the relationship between technology, art and Science. Several significant exhibitions are conducted here.
The most prominent ones are The Universal Genius at Work, Galileo's Telescope, The Library of the Universal Genius and others.

The library in Museo Galileo has been an integral part of this museum forever. However, it was redesigned and remodelled recently in 2002. The library was shifted to the Palazzo Castellani's third floor during this time. This library features over 150,000 works related to Science.
Of these, around 5,000 are antique works, including the Medici-Lorraine Collection. The library also houses different archival collections which date back to the 18th- to 20th centuries. This place can take you back in time even if you're not a Science lover.
Started in 1991, Museo Galileo introduced his very own multimedia lab as he was well aware of the growing importance of communication and information technologies.
The lab is used for producing both offline and online applications for temporary and permanent exhibitions. Besides this, it is also used to produce digital archives to conduct scientific and historical research.
