London Stadium was formerly known as ‘The stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park,’ and the Olympic stadium is a multipurpose stadium in the Stratford district of London. The stadium was made of the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2012 summer Olympics and served as the track & field venue. It was also the site for the opening and closing ceremonies.
Because of the huge number of games played at the Olympic stadium London, it was recently renovated, and now this multi-purpose stadium is the primary home for Premier League and West Ham United.Experience all this and more with our Europe tour packages.
The first public event of the stadium was in March 2012. This stadium has hosted the Rugby world cup match in 2015 and two of England’s test matches of the Rugby league, 2017 World Para Athletic Championships and the 2017 IAAF world championship in Athletics were held in this stadium.
The stadium has the capacity to hold concerts with 80,000 spectators. The London Stadium is in oval shape with relocatable seating so it can host other games like cricket and baseball. When the stadium was reopened on July 16, it had a seating capacity of 66,000; however, for the football game, the seats are limited to only 60,000.
In 2019, June the London stadium also hosted its first regular-season US major league Baseball game.
