London Aquatics Centre is a magnificent indoor swimming facility that brags about being the only revolutionary swimming stadium in the world. Located at the southeast edge of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford City Bridge, London Aquatics Centre welcomes novice swimmers and experienced athletes to learn the art of swimming and diving and enhance their skills. It features an exceptional architecture illustrating the fluid geometries of water in motion with a huge undulating wave forming the roof of the building. The Centre, which was the home of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, was redesigned to accommodate 17,500 spectators who came to witness the Olympics.

The Aquatics Centre offers an array of aquatic activities like swimming and diving lessons, family swimming sessions, community swimming sessions and lane swimming. It sports two large Olympic sized 50-metre pools namely Competition Pool and Training Pool, and a small 25-metre pool that are suitable for swimmers of all abilities.

The Competition Pool is designed for competent swimmers who wish to up their game with advanced techniques and strokes. The Training Pool is open for guests who want to learn swimming and for families to enjoy a fun-filled day at the pool. The centre also facilitates diving classes by Tom Dale and fitness sessions in a sophisticated gym.

The best time to visit London Aquatics Centre is during the weekdays when the place is less crowded. It is recommended to visit the location early in the morning around 6 AM when the centre opens or by noon after 12 PM to avoid the crowds and enjoy swimming in leisure.

  • Pre book your session date and time online for swimming, gym and other leisure activities to avoid standing in long queues at the entrance.
  • Members of the Aquatics Centre need not pay any fee to use the activities mentioned in their membership type while casual users will have to pay a fee to take part in any activity.
  • Visitors can bring swimming aids and equipment from their homes or buy goggles and swimwear at the centre.
  • Pool pods and hoists are available on request for disabled people.
  • A 3 Euro no show fee is levied if you miss attending a pre-booked activity or fail to scan the entry barcode.

  • By Bus: Board a bus on the routes 108 or 339 to reach London Aquatics Centre bus stop or find a bus on line D8, 25, 86 and 104 to Stratford Bus Station from where you can walk to the centre in 4 minutes.
