Built in 1903, the Kannur Lighthouse is a historical structure near Payyambalam Beach in Kerala and is considered as one of the of the best places to visit in Kannur. The lighthouse serves as an important navigation point on the Malabar coast and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Arabian Sea and the Kannur coast. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase to the top, where they are greeted with a breathtaking view, especially at sunset.
Adjacent to the lighthouse is the Lighthouse Museum, which displays antique navigational equipment, lenses and maritime artifacts that highlight the rich nautical history of the region. The surrounding Sea View Park offers visitors a tranquil setting to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Payyambalam beach.
