El Partal

El Partal is a small but perfectly formed Moorish palace in the ancient city of Granada, southern Spain. Dating back to the 14th century, it was built by Muhammad III, Sultan of the Nasrid dynasty. The main entrance to the palace is through a small gate in the city wall.

The gate leads into a large courtyard, which is surrounded on three sides by a two-story arcade. The fourth side of the courtyard is open. In the center of the courtyard is a small garden with a pool. The palace itself consists of two stories.

The ground floor contains a series of small rooms, including a kitchen and a bathroom. The upper floor contains a harem, as well as a room for prayer and an outdoor terrace with views of the city and the surrounding countryside.

Despite its small size, El Partal contains a number of beautiful features, including an intricately carved wooden ceiling, a stunning marble fountain, and a serene inner courtyard. Visitors can also find a lovely tiled pool and an atmospheric Barbary room where the Sultan would have met with his courtiers.
