Designed like an English landscape park, the Amsterdamse Bos is the largest recreational area in Amsterdam – a perfect fit for some relaxation and quiet time. Apart from taking a walk, you can also camp on the outskirts of the Amsterdam forest, as it is locally called. There are designated camping spots located on the outskirts of the Amsterdamse Bos. Discover this beautifully designed English landscape park with our Europe tour packages.
If you are into planes and jets, walk down to the wide alley where you can spot many low flying yet huge planes that take off from the Schiphol airport. Since it is a planned and regularly developed space, the Amsterdamse Bos is also home to certain facilities and activities. For adventure seekers, there’s a dedicated adventure park. If you wish to feel closer to nature, you can always take a rowing boat down the long canal or explore the adjoining cheese farms.
If you don’t wish to explore the park on foot, you can also rent a bike which will let you explore the proximity even more. There’s also a naturists area which is a special area in Amsterdamse Bos reserved for sunbathing where you can soak in the glorious sunlight without any clothes on.
