10 Days Trekking At Samtengang In Bhutan

Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Arrive at Paro

  On arrival you will be greeted by Bhutan representative and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon visit the Paro Dzong, national museum and Kyichu Lhakhang. In the evening you can explore Paro town. Overnight in Paro.

• Day 2 -

  Drive from Paro to Thimphu

  Morning hike to Taktsang. In the late afternoon, drive to Thimphu. On the way to Thimphu you can visit the Simtokha Dzong (the oldest fortress in the kingdom).

  In the evening you can explore Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and absorb the lifestyle of the people.

  You can also visit some interesting handicraft shops.

  Overnight in Thimphu.

• Day 3 -

  Sightseeing at Thimphu

  Visit King's Memorial Chorten, Changgangkha Monastery and Nunnery temple, School of Arts and Crafts and Bhutan post, and Thimphu Dzong.

  Overnight in Thimphu.

• Day 4 -

  Drive from Thimphu to Wangduephodrang

  After breakfast you will drive to Wangduephodrang, with a stop en route for tea at Dochu La (3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas.

  After lunch you will drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong.

  After the dzong you can explore the Punakha town.

  Overnight in Wangduephodrang.

• Day 5 -

  Punakha to Limukha

  Trek begins with the gradual climb through chirpine forest.You will be trekking for around 5-6 hours and cover a distance of about 14kmsto an altitude of 2120 m.

• Day 6 -

  Trek from Limukha to Chungsekha

  Trek through the Rhododendron and Oak Forested area. Enroute pass a famous Drukpa Kuenley Lakhang.

  You will be trekking for around 4-5 hours and cover a distance of about 11 kms to an altitude of 1680 m.

• Day 7 -

  Trek from Chungsekha to Samtengang

  Trek through the village of Sha Wangdi District. Camp at Samtengang at lake side.

  You will be trekking for around 4-5 hours and cover a distance of about 11 kms to an altitude of 1920 m.

• Day 8 -

  Samtengang to Wangdi

  After breakfast you will be taken for sightseeing of Punakha and Wangdi.

  You will visit the Chimmy Lhakhang and Wangdi dzong.

  Overnight in Wangdi.

• Day 9 -

  Drive from Wangdiphodrang to Paro

  After breakfast drive to Thimphu. Do rest of the sightseeing in Thimphu.

  Afternoon drive to Paro. In Paro you can visit a farm house and take hot-stone bath.

  Overnight in Paro.

• Day 10 -

  Depature

  Drive to Paro airport where the tour comes to an end.
