About the Tour:
Ramayana is not just another tale, it is an influential allegory-an indispensable part of the Hindu religious canon. The land of Bihar is a place replete with stories from the epic Ramayana, written by sage Valmiki Muni. There are many places that are connected to different occasions of Goddess Sita and Lord Rama’s life. Bihar plays an important role in the history and development of Hinduism as a religion.

- This legendary land is the place where most of the tales of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita took place in Valmiki’s epic that has contributed to the Hindu religious and social fabric.
- Many of the locations mentioned in this legend are in Bihar and considered holy sites for Hindus.
- Temples depicting the tales of Ram and Sita can be found in this circuit.
- Cover places like Bagaha, Valmiki Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Sitamarhi, Ahilya Asthan, Darbhanga, Ramchura, Patna, Kako and the stunning Gaya.

Places covered during the tour:

Chanki Garh: Also known as Janaki Garh, this village is famous for a large mound in the eastern part of the village that is a mass of solid brickwork and is 90’ high. The local tradition asserts that it was a Fort of king Janak and the remains of fortification can still be seen.

Ram-Janaki Temple: This is a fairly big temple with a modern structure. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Ram, Sita and Hanuman. A nearby tank famous as Janki Kund is where King Janaka used to give bath to the baby Sita as is the belief of popular mythical tale.

Ahilya Asthan: A very important incident in Ramayana is about Ahilya, the wife of Sage Gautam who cursed his wife and she turned into stone and waited for ages for Ram’s touch to come alive again.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Bagaha to Valmiki Nagar

    On arrival at Bagaha Railway Station (BUG) or Bettiah, meet and greet by Our representative and then get driven to Valmiki Nagar.

    On arrival check-in at Hotel, relax for a few hours.

    Later drive to visit ancient sites called Valmiki Ashram, Jatashankar Temple and Nardevi Temple.

    Evening enjoys the magnificent view of River Gandak and Someshwar Hills which is just behind your resort in Valmiki Nagar.

    Overnight stay in Valmiki Nagar hotel.

  • Day 2 - Valmiki Nagar to Chanki Garh and Sitamarhi

    Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Sitamarhi – A birthplace of Goddess Sita.

    Enroute visit Chanki Garh for ruins of the ancient fort of King Janak.

    Later drive to Sitamarhi, on arrival check in to the hotel, later visit Punauradham, Sita Kund, Haleshwar Asthan, Panth Pakar.

    Evening back to the hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 3 - Sitamarhi to Janakpur and back to Sitamarhi

    Today after breakfast take an excursion tour to Janakpur.

    It is said that the marriage of Rama and Sita has been solemnized in this place.

    One can see the magnificent “Ram-Janaki” temple here along with many other temples related to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita or Janaki.

    Evening back to Sitamarhi for overnight stay.

  • Day 4 - Sitamarhi to Ahilya Asthan and Darbhanga

    Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Darbhanga.

    En-route visit Ahilya Asthan and Gautam Kund.

    Evening reaches Darbhanga, check-in and overnight stay.

  • Day 5 - Darbhanga to Ramchura and Patna

    Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Patna.

    En-route visit Ramchura Village in Vaishali. Later reach Patna, on arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel.

    The evening gets driven to the famous Hanuman Temple, you may also do some shopping near to Temple area.

    Overnight stay in the Hotel.

  • Day 6 - Patna to Kako and Gaya

    Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Gaya.

    En-route visit Kako – The name of this place is derived from the name of Kaikeyee, who was the second wife of Rama’s father, the King Dasharath.

    Later reach Gaya. On arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel. Evening visit Ramshila Hills, Vishnu Pad Temple and Falgu river, it is believed that Lord Rama performs Pinddaan Puja in the memory of his ancestors.

    Evening back to the hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 7 - Departure from Gaya

    Today after breakfast, time is free till departure. As per your train time, drop off you at Gaya Railway Station for your onwards journey to home.
