How to reach:

The easiest way to travel to Arunachal Pradesh is via Guwahati by air - Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) provides connectivity from major parts of the country. Or one can board a train till Guwahati railway station.

Day 1
Arrival at Guwahati | Transfer to Dimapur
Dimapur
  • Meet our representative on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station where you will be greeted well.
  • Transfer to Dimapur, which will be approx 7 hrs journey.
  • Check in to the hotel after arrival and enjoy the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight at Dimapur.
Day 2
Dimapur to Kisama | Visit the Naga Heritage Village
Kigwema
  • Post breakfast in the morning begin your journey to Kisama Heritage Village.
  • The route to Kisama Village is via Kohima (the capital of Nagaland) and the journey will take approx 3 hours.
  • You can choose to take a stopover in Kohima and visit the War Cemetery to pay homage to the martyrs and also visit the Kohima Cathedral Church.
  • Kisama Heritage Village is a model village and is also the permanent venue of the Hornbill Festival.
  • Upon reaching Kisama Village, you have the whole day to explore the Hornbill festival.
  • While buying the entry ticket, you will get a booklet with the whole schedule for this 10 days festival.
  • You can enjoy the various cultural performances, walk around the village to get an insight into the traditional lifestyle of various tribes, and much more.
  • After exploring the festival, you will be dropped at your homestay/ camps in Kisama/ Kigwema.

Day 3
Hornbill Festival | Witness the biggest cultural gathering in India
Kigwema
  • After breakfast, you will be dropped at the Kisama Heritage Village to enjoy your day at the Hornbill Festival.
  • This festival is a once in s lifetime experience to watch a beautiful cross-cultural melange of 17 tribes of Nagaland, who proudly showcase their lifestyle for these 10 days.
  • There are various cultural performances - folk dances, music with traditional instruments, survival techniques shows, etc.
  • Walk around the village and explore the traditional houses, majorly made of wood and bamboo.
  • Try the local cuisine, made by the tribals themselves. You can also try authentic rice beer.
  • Get more insights into the culture of Nagaland by interacting with the locals who are very warm and friendly folks.

  • After breakfast, you will be dropped at the Kisama Heritage Village to enjoy your day at the Hornbill Festival.
  • This festival is a once in s lifetime experience to watch a beautiful cross-cultural melange of 17 tribes of Nagaland, who proudly showcase their lifestyle for these 10 days.
  • Experience the myriad cultural extravaganza, food stalls, herbal medicine stalls, flower shows and sales, cultural medley, indigenous games, and Musical concerts.
  • There are various cultural performances - folk dances, music with traditional instruments, survival techniques shows, etc.

Day 5
Kigwema to Kaziranga | Welcome to the land of one-horned Rhino
Kaziranga
  • After having your breakfast in the morning, board your transfer to Kaziranga.
  • Kaziranga is located in the heart of Assam and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Enjoy the beautiful 7 hrs long road journey to reach Kaziranga.
  • Upon reaching Kaziranga, spend the rest of the day at leisure to get ready for a fun and adventurous journey the next day.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel at Kaziranga.
Day 6
Safari in Kaziranga National Park | Transfer to Dirang
Dirang
  • Early morning, head out to enjoy a jeep safari in the Kaziranga national park.
  • Kaziranga National Park is home to many species of animals & birds including the One-horned rhino.
  • After completing the safari, return back to your hotel and have a delicious breakfast.
  • Post breakfast, board your transfer to Dirang.
  • On the way, visit Tipi On the banks of the river Bharali at an elevation of 190 meters having an orchidarium with over 500 orchids.
  • Check in to the hotel on arrival.
  • Visit Dirang Monastery, and Kalachakra Monastery (if time permits).
  • Overnight stay at Dirang.
Day 7
Dirang to Tawang | Take a stopover at the iconic Sela Pass
Tawang
  • After breakfast this morning, you will be traveling to Tawang.
  • On the way, take a short stopover at the iconic Sela Pass. You can also visit the Sela lake which is located right next to the Pass.
  • A little drive of about 10 km will land you at Jaswant Garh War Memorial.
  • Later visit the cascading Nuranang Falls.
  • Reach Tawang and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 8
Tawang Local Sightseeing | Visit one of the largest monasteries in the World
Tawang
  • After breakfast, get ready for the day's sightseeing.
  • Start off by visiting Tawang Monastery, also known as Golden Namgey Lhatse which is the largest monastery in India.
  • Later visit Urgelling Gompa - the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama.
  • You can also visit the craft center in Tawang which sells Tibetan handicrafts, hand-woven carpets, and jewelry in silver, coral, and amber.
  • In the evening, spend some time at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 9
Excursion to Bumla (Optional) | Explore the High Altitude Lake
Tawang
  • After breakfast, proceed for the local sightseeing.
  • You can pay an optional visit to the Bum La pass, at an elevation of 5,000 m above sea level and marks the Indo-China border.
  • When on a visit to Bumla Pass, make a point to see the route from where Dalai Lama entered India to take refuge.
  • Later on, pay a visit to the most popular lake of Tawang- Shonga-tser lake aka Madhuri Lake, Taktsang Gompa.
  • Spend the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 10
Tawang to Bomdila | Get the views of West Kameng Valley eloped in the clouds
Bomdila
  • Wake up and have a delicious breakfast.
  • Transfer to Bomdila.(8,200 ft.).
  • On arrival check in to the hotel.
  • Visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) and Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa) later after relaxing.
  • Evening you can visit the local market and spend some time at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Day 11
Bomdila - Guwahati | Enjoy the pleasant road journey
Guwahati
  • Today is going to be a bit long at the journey part, so, after a heavy breakfast, proceed towards Guwahati. 
  • After reaching Guwahati, the remaining day will be at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Guwahati
Day 12
Departure | Goodbye with lots of memories
  • After breakfast, you will leave for the Guwahati airport/Railway station, bringing the experience to an end.
  • Complimentary visit to the Kamakhya Temple, if time permits.
  • It is now time to head back home with a plethora of good memories.

Know Before You Go for Hornbill Festival with Kaziranga and Tawang

  • The display price is for 4 PAX
  • Thrillophilia reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance that occurred (i.e weather condition, political condition or any others) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service.
  • Pick up from the airport/railway station should be mandatory between 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM. Beyond these timings, it is recommended to stay in Guwahati & Traveller is advised to let Thrillophilia know before booking if they are arriving after 2 PM in Guwahati so that Thrillophilia can rearrange their Itinerary.
  • Airfare to the starting point of your trip and back is not included in the cost.
  • The traveler will have to take care of their international airfare, visa fees, airport tax or any kind of insurance cover.
  • Items of personal nature like drinks, laundry, telephone calls, tips, camera fees, etc or any other item not specifically mentioned above as ‘INCLUDED’ is to be considered exclusion of the deal.

  • The vehicle for sightseeing is available on an itinerary basis only, and will not be on disposal.

  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
  • All foreign nationals must share their passport and visa details at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
  • The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.
  • Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like a change in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomenon, roadblocks, etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost. No bill will be reimbursed for any missed service/facility.
  • Because of any reason natural or personal, if the tour or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
  • Pay heed to the tour guides and instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound tour.
  • All entry tickets for elephant safari, and entry fees of monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc. are not a part of the package.
  • GST is applicable to the package cost.
  • Any breakage or damage of any items in the resort will be charged at actuals.
  • Bright colours like red are not allowed inside the Park. It is recommended to wear green or any other forest suitable colour during the safari.
