Sita Mata Sanctuary is spread over a wide area of Malwa plateau and Aravalli mountain ranges. The sanctuary preserves many varieties of deer such as Chousingha and other species like Caracal wild boar, a variety of leopards, heyna, jungle cat, fox, etc. The thick forests of deciduous teak wood and bamboo trees act as a natural habitat to a huge Indian wildlife species. Forest area contains Tendu, Amla and Salar trees also. The most extraordinary animal of the Sita Mata sanctuary is the flying squirrel. The best time to see this squirrel is between February and March at Arampura forest guest house, when most of the trees shed their leaves and it is easier to spot the squirrel on the branches of leafless trees.

By Road: Rajasthan Roadways run very comfortable deluxe & air conditioned buses from Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad to Udaipur. The roads are very good, and it takes around 8-9 hr. from Jaipur. You can also come by taxi from Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

While in the jungle do not wear perfume, cologne, or deodorant of any kind before or during your time in the Sita Mata Jungle and The Jalore Wildlife Sanctuary. Metal cans, plastic containers, and plastic bags, of any kind are forbidden inside the Jungle. Do not walk in the Jungle after sunset or before sunrise.
Wear light cotton long sleeved shirts and trousers. Wear insect repellent but make sure it is not fragrant. Wear hiking boots or walking shoes while inside the jungle.
