Blanco Renaissance Museum

Blanco easily rates amongst the most popular museums in Ubud as it is a landmark icon in the city. It was once the residence of the famous Phillipino artist, Don Antonio Blanco, whose artwork is now displayed here. Neka Art Museum

Established by Wayan Suteja Neka, this museum displays a collection of artworks in six different establishments in an opulent setting. Stunning paintings, beautiful sculptures, and Balinese Keri daggers are featured in a traditional layout.

Ramayana and Mahabharata epics displayed in classical Kamasan style wayang paintings and artworks with contemporary Western influences can be enjoyed in the first building, and the works of Adrianus Wilhelmus are set up in the second one.

The natural beauty of Bali has been captured in the renderings hung at the third building. Other artists featured are Gusti Nyoman Lempad, Widayat, and Ahmad Sadali.

Njana Tilem Museum

Dedicated to the art of wood carving, Njana Tilem is the most famous museums in Ubud featuring the works of local master carvers like Ida Bagus Njana and Ida Bagus Tilem. The two artists were father and son, and they were the first carvers in all of Bali who popularised and revolutionised the art form.

Beautiful paintings, traditional masks, and Balinese antiques are also displayed here, along with some contemporary works that depict everyday Balinese lifestyle. You can also see abstract pieces that feature human emotions carved into distorted wood that occurs naturally.

Museum Pendet

Nestled 3 kilometres from the city is the most intricate museums in Ubud, Pendet. It was founded by Ida Bagus and opened to the public in 2002. The museum displays artworks crafted by Wayan Pendet, who not just painted, but also created beautiful sculptures.

You can observe 29 paintings and 80 sculptured by him here, along with the works of Wayan Gunasta, his son. The museum has quite a rustic feel to it, and you will feel connected to the local culture and history here.
