2. Vihigaon Waterfall: Located only a short drive outside Igatpuri, the beautiful Vihigaon Waterfalls offer a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. The pool surrounding the waterfall is also perfect for dips in the hot summer months, while the open areas around it is a popular picnic spot in the vicinity.

3. Kalsubai Peak: Known as the Everest of Maharashtra, Kalsubai Peak is the highest point in the state. Needless to say, the peak is a tourist magnet for all trekkers coming to the area. The stunning trekking routes here are known for their fantastic landscapes. The peak is also known to command some of the most amazing views of the sunset and sunrise. Kalsubai falls within the boundaries of the eponymous Kalsubai Wildlife Sanctuary, making the peak a haven for nature lovers. The trails across the peak are also scattered with little temples, making it a popular sightseeing zone.

4. Ghatandevi Temple: Nestled in the Nashik Valley, Ghatandevi Mata Temple is one of the most popular Hindu temples in Maharashtra. 5. Bhavali Dam: Built on the Bham river, Bhavali Dam is an earthfill dam in Igatpuri. Rising to a height of about 5,000 feet above sea level, the Dam is a majestic sight to behold. It can be climbed by an ascent of about 100 stairs, and commands an excellent view of the swift flowing river below. Little waterfalls beside the Dam area add to the charm of the place. The open areas near the dam are also popular as picnic spots.

6. Camel Valley: A haven for photographers and nature lovers alike, Camel Valley lies just a little ahead of the city of Igatpuri. The little valley opens into numerous little waterfalls, offering some splendid views. The valley is best visited in monsoon, when the lush forests here appear twice as beautiful. Some water sports such as river rafting or river crossing can also be done here.

7. Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary: Sprawling along the massive Kalsubai Peak, the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the best of Igatpuri’s natural splendor. The sanctuary was created to protect the natural vegetation of the mountains, along with several species of insects such as butterflies, bees and butterflies. The Kalsubai Temple can also be found here, making it a popular tourist spot among Hindu devotees and trekkers alike.

8. Vipassana Meditation Academy: With its characteristic golden dome known across the world, the Vipassana Meditation Academy is the largest institute teaching meditation across all countries. Offering residential courses free of cost for all, the Academy attracts Vipassana enthusiasts from around the world, throughout the year. With its elaborate carvings, the main gate of the Academy is an attraction in itself.

9. Amruteshwar Temple: Constructed in the 9th century, the Amrutheshwara Temple is one of the oldest temples in India dedicated to Lord Shiva. Over a 1000 years old, the temple is now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. The fantastic rock carvings on the temple walls and pillars makes it worth a visit. The ceilings too, have lovely floral murals which are worth a watch.

10. Avandha Fort: Sitting at an elevation of over 4,300 feet above sea level, Avandha Fort is a sight to behold. Formed out of rock cut caves and water reservoirs, the hilltop fort is a must visit for lovers of history. The Fort is also a trekking hotspot among seasoned trekkers, as its long winding route is fairly difficult to navigate.
