The Palace of Fine Arts, located in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure. It was originally built for the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition by California architect, Bernard Maybeck, to showcase works of art and is one of the only remaining buildings from that time. The iconic place is well known for its Beaux-Arts architecture which can be witnessed in its Greco-Roman rotunda and colonnades. The 162-foot-high open rotunda is enclosed by a lagoon on one side and has a large, curved exhibition centre on the other side.
