Wayanad is a beautiful part of Kerala touching Karnataka and Kerala border and gives some unexplored and untouched opportunities to explore nature at its best with some thrilling adventure. This package has been carefully crafted to give a flavor of the most unique parts of Wayanad and make it as offbeat and raw as possible.

About the Activity:
After an overnight drive on Friday from Bangalore and you will arrive at the Sulthan Bathery where you can freshen up and have breakfast. From where, first, you reach Ambalavayal town in Wayanad district in a bus and from here a thrilling jeep drive takes you into nature's heart by crossing through Elimbileri Rain Forest and also experience the tranquility of Nellarachal Water.

Now you will leave for Thollayiram Kandi trek to discover a hidden waterfall on the peak. Spend some time at the top admiring the nature. Return to the basepoint and board the jeep to reach Meppadi where you can treat your taste buds with a delicious lunch at your own expense. After reaching homestay, you can savor dinner and enjoy your time with family and friends beside a crackling bonfire. Then, start the trek in the night with torches/headlamps for around a km to reach the top where camps are placed and enjoy the camping experience under the stars  This will be a real thrilling adventure. For the weaker souls, they can choose to sleep in the homestays at the base and opt-out to trek in the night to the camping top.

Wake up to the early morning, feel fresh and energetic and then start your trek to Ambukuthi Mala to witness the blissful sunrise over the horizon that makes this place one of the most favorite spots for people who love trekking. Speaking of right after the trek, pack up and come back to the homestay. 

After reaching homestay, have your authentic Kerala breakfast and get a jeep drop to Ambalavayal town. Reaching there, get into the bus and visit RARS for a nature walk amidst majestic birds and vibrant ornamental flowers. At the end of that, leave for Bangalore, bringing the experience to an end.

This package is exclusively designed for monsoon and adventure lovers allowing one to be close to nature and experience thrilling activities. Camping in the monsoons is made fun by ensuring that camps are put up under shaded areas thereby making it comfortable. And even if it rains during the trip, the adventure won't stop, because this is the Wild Monsoon Adventure Series

Pick-up Locations:
07:15 PM: Baroda Bank and Koramangala, Bangalore.
08:00 PM: New Shanti Nagar hotel, Bangalore.
08:30 PM: Hard rock cafe, MG road, Bangalore.

Meals:
The wild monsoon adventure series in Wayanad package includes 2 breakfasts (Veg) in authentic Kerala form, 1 lunch (Veg), 1 dinner (Non-Veg). During the trek, you will be provided the snacks and power pack drinks. 

Stay:
The wild monsoon adventure series in Wayanad includes the provision of staying in tents under starry nights on the hilltop. Best care is taken to provide waterproof tents and they are pitched in bamboo shaded areas. Stay in homestay will be provided if it rains heavily. 

How to reach?
The pick-up points as mentioned above can be reached comfortably with the help of convenient public and private transportation.

Note:
There would be no availability of toilets at the hilltop.
The amenities along this route are basic. The trekker is advised to carry adequate water and beverages.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Jeep Safari to Ambalavayal Town via Elimbileri Rain Forests, Thollayiram Kandi Exploration and Starry Night Trek

    The trip begins in the eveining on your selected date where you will be picked up from select locations in Bangalore. Since this will be an overnight journey, it is advised that you take some light dinner.

    You will arrive early on the morning of Saturday at the homestay. Check-in and get freshened up, rest for a while.

    You will then be served with a warm and delicious breakfast before you reach Ambalavayal Town. From here, your jeep safari trek will begin. The trek will pass through lush green forests, making for one amazing experience.

    The rains, as you will notice, have brought on a new beauty to the forest. And if it rains during the trek, you will take out your ponchos or raincoats, and continue on the trek.

    Trek to Thollayiram Kandi to find a hidden waterfall on reaching the peak.

    Spend some time at the top, take pictures and relax.

    You will then start the descent back to the base camp and board the jeep to reach Meppadi and have self-sponsored lunch.

    Reach the Homestay in Jeep. Have dinner and get ready for the bonfire.

    Around 10 pm, start walking to the campsite under a starry night sharing stories among friends.

    Reach the campsite and retire for the day.

  • Day 2 - Climb Ambukuthi Mala and Visit RARS

    Wake up early and freshen up.

    Hike around 500 m from the campsite to reach to the topmost point of the peak(Ambukuthi Mala) and witness the sunrise over the horizon to spread its orangish glow.

    Pack up and come back to homestay.

    Have authentic Kerala breakfast and get a jeep drop to Ambalavayal town.

    Get into the bus and journey to RARS for a nature walk amidst majestic birds and vibrant ornamental flowers
