One such region worth seeing is the region of Salamatpur, and this trek takes you there in the most adventurous way possible; by trekking. 

Factual Information:
Known for the early finding settlers finding their home here, Salamatpur is a great spot for trekkers who love the beauty of nature. Surrounded by a good number of cave shelters in the hills, the highlight of visiting Salamatpur are the beautiful peacocks and many other rare migratory birds flocking to this region throughout the year. A trek here opens one up to some of the most beautiful scenes of the wild and rare bird sightings. 

Activity:
The main activity of this adventure is the trekking trail itself, where you would witness the rush of walking through the jungle and enjoy the sighting of many rare migratory species. Another great thing to do on this trek is visiting the ancient rock shelters where you can find a lot of evidence of the early settlements.

How to Reach:
Located almost 40 km north-east of the city of Bhopal, a road transport will directly take you to the starting of the Salamatpur region. The trek to reach the cave shelters starts from the Salamatpur dam. In this package, you will be picked up from Bhopal and transferred via road to the beginning point of the trek.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Trek to Salamatpur

    7:30 AM: Reach the pickup location at the railway station in Bhopal.

    8 AM: Start the journey to the reach the starting point of the trek.

    8:15- 8:30 AM: You will be stopping for breakfast.

    9:30 AM: Reach the starting point and get a small briefing about the activity.

    10:00 AM: Start the trek to the Salamatpur Dam. The trek is very thrilling and extremely exciting.

    12:00 AM: Reach dam and enjoy the beauty of the area.

    1:00 PM: Continue the trek to reach the rock shelters of Salamatpur. Lunch will be served here as you continue to explore the area around.

    3:00 PM: Start Trekking to the lake nearby and a have a relaxing dip in the waters.

    5:00 PM: Trek back to the starting point back.

    5.30 PM: Leave for Bhopal and bring the experience to an end.
