Kathotiya is a small village located in the forests some 25 km from Bhopal. Nestled in the hills, the place is laden with many ancient and prehistoric cave paintings. The main reason that this place is famous is the many adventure sports like rock climbing, rappelling, trekking, and tribal interactions.
Factual Information about Kathotiya Trek To Kerwa :
Located in the Satpura jungles, Kahtotiya and Kerwa are great havens for wildlife lovers. You can get to spot a number of wild animals in the area, including Tigers, Sloth Bears, Leopard and Fox.
Kathotiya is also the home to many ancient cave paintings shelters left behind by the many early settlers.
Activities during Kathotiya Trek To Kerwa:
The total trek of about 14 km itself is a beautiful experience, followed by much more surreal views at the end of it that are worth a click throughout the way. Exploring the cave paintings will sure be the highlight of the day trek. The way also passes lush through lush green jungles which are home to many wild animals and rare birds making for great opportunities for pictures and sightings.
How to reach Kathotiya Trek To Kerwa:
Located around 25 km from the city of Bhopal and in the midst of the Satpura Wildlife Sanctuary, the place can be reached by taking a road transport to the nearest village of Kathotiya. From here, you can trek to the Firangi Pahad, which is about a couple of hours away. This package includes a pick and drop facility from Bhopal, and back to Bhopal.
Kathotiya Trek To Kerwa is suitable for: Friends, Families, & Corporate.
7:30 AM: Reach the pickup location in Bhopal
8 AM: Begin the journey to Kathotiya.
8:15- 30 AM: You will be having a short halt for breakfast.
9 AM: Reach Kathotiya and get a small briefing about the activity, trek from Kathotiya to Firangi Pahad and then on to Kerwa. You will then start the trek from the Village.
10:30 AM: After walking for 1 hour to 1.5 hours in the evergreen forest, you will reach the Firangi Pahad and the Rock Painting Shelters. Lunch will be served in the meanwhile.
12:30 PM: Trek to the Ancient Cave Paintings and enjoy the artsmanship and storytelling of the ancients.
2:30 PM: Trek back to the camp/ village.
4:00 PM: Reach the village & continue journey back to Bhopal.
