Java Active Volcano Trekking Expedition In Indonesia

Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Arrive Surabaya on an early flight to join this tour.

  At around 10.30 AM, the group will leave for Malang, one of the largest cities in East Java and then toward to Tumpang.

  Then you will be driven to Ranu Pani where you will stay with a local family.

  Do some sightseeing around the area, spend time to explore on your own and take in the atmosphere.

  Enjoy a homemade dinner.

• Day 2 -

  Start your journey through the tropical rain forest, it is home to Mt. Semeru, the highest mountain in this part of Java and one with an active volcano.

  Walk for 3-4 hours and reach Ranu Kumbolo with its mountainous lake.

  Post lunch, trek for another 3-4 hours toward Kalimati Camp - the Summit Camp of Mt. Semeru.

  You will stay overnight in a tent or at the Kalimati Camp.

• Day 3 -

  Start early to the summit of Mount Semeru (12,060 ft above sea level).

  About two and a half hours of walking toward crater's rim needed from where you can relish the view of magnificent sunrise.

  Head back to the base camp in time for breakfast.

  Trek back to Ranu Pani Village via Mount Ayek-Ayek which will take 2-3 hours, reaching just after lunch.

  Get a jeep ride to Cemoro Lawang village where you will stay overnight at a lodge.

• Day 4 -

  Start very early for a jeep ride to see Mt. Pananjakan, an active volcano.

  Enjoy sunrise views of the mountains, head back to the lodge in time for breakfast.

  Take rest before heading to Mojokerto train station for the train to Jogyakarta.

  After reaching there meet your guide and get transferred to your hotel .

  You are free to explore dinner options on your own.

• Day 5 -

  Explore and witness the fine arts, handiwork such as batik and music that this city of Jogyakarta.

  Visit the Prambanan Temple built in the 8th century and then stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

  Continue to Kraton, the 'Sultan's Palace' to admire a collection of old batiks and continue to Taman Sari Water Castle and on to Kota Gede Centre of Luxurious Silver Craft.

  Have dinner at the Kesuma Restaurant.

• Day 6 -

  Relax completely for the day and you are free to rest or explore on your own.

  Those who are interested may get a chance to visit the 8th Century Borobudur temples.

  The tour includes lunch and a batik making class.

• Day 7 -

  Spend time on your own before you head to the airport for the end of your tour.
