Located in between Barkota hills and the Pir Panjal range, The Oak Cottage gives you a wonderful location for a quiet vacation of walks, treks, mountain & forest trails, cook-outs, and relaxation. The Cottage features 3 private bedrooms with a lovely fireplace in the living area, a dining area and a kitchen, a patio and a front garden with a barbeque. One can experiment and cook in the fully equipped kitchen at the cottage. Enjoy an array of other activities like organic farming, Bird watching, Indoor and Outdoor games

The cottage provides you with a number of self-guided hikes/walks like:

  • Ganji Pahari: Ganji Pahari has situated in Barkota hills 5 km from Dalhousie city. It’s a famous picnic spot and hiking point. There are no trees at the peak of the hill and it looks like it’s got a bald-headed patch at the top. In this attractive place, travellers can enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful view of the mountains and have fun with their friends and family.
  • Around Bakrota Hill: A wonderful 4 km flat walk around the hill, through forested areas, surrounded by deodars and conifers. Overlooking the Chamba Valley and the Pir Panjal range on the North, and the Punjab Valley on the South, this walk feels like a forest bath. Stop for Tea and Pakoras at Bara Pathar, a 5 min diversion towards Khajjiar midway on the walk. Total duration – 1 hour.
  • Up to Bakrota Top: A 1.5 km bridle path going up to the summit. Lovely trees, nature, mountain vistas, wild strawberries and awesome heritage Cottages on the way. Find a quiet stop to meditate and picnic. Bear country, avoid after sundown.
  • To the Jandrighat Palace: A 1.5 km bridle descent to the Palace area from near the Arpana Hospital. For the brave and conditioned, walk down and from there to the GPO (a flat walk) and cab it back!

How to reach the property:
The places are 80 km away from Pathankot Railway station (nearest railway station) and 5 km away from the nearest Bus stand which is Dalhousie Bus Stand.  
The property is well connected with public and private transport.
