Being one of the most visited locations in Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang has a special place in terms of serenity, scenic beauty, and peaceful sights.
Choose this short trip for two days to visit the undulating nature in Tawang and Zimthang, know how the natives are preserving their village so beautifully along with a visit to the amazing Tawang Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama and the Stupa of Lama Prather of Kharman village. 

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Tawang

    Arrive at Tawang in the morning as you will be able to indulge in a full day sightseeing tour after you check-in to your hotel.

    One of the famous attractions in Tawang is the Tawang Monastery, which was founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso.

    Later, go on a short trek to Bramdungchung Ani Gomap, where the oldest Ani Gompa in Tawang is located. The Gompa is situated in the lap of a far off mountain encircled by natural scenery and comes under the administration of Tawang Monastery.

    In the evening, visit Urgelling Monastery, situated 5 km to the south of town. Later head out to visit the Monpa Village and return to your hotel at night and relax.

  • Day 2 - Tawang – Zimthang (92 km one way) – Tawang

    Start early today for the excursion to Zemithang. Visit the sky looming stupa constructed by Lama Prathar of Kharman village in the 13th century AD.

    Return to Tawang by late evening and check-out of your hotel for your departure.
