Shekhawati Tour Overview

Rajasthan has always been famous for its forts, palaces, cultural heritage and amazing cuisines the world over. This extraordinary state is a treasure house and one such treasure is the Shekhawati region. Located right in the heart of the amazing Thar Desert, this region is surrounded by golden sand dunes. Shekhawati is the land of the Shekhawat Rajputs and they have ruled this region for over 500 years. 

  • The Shekhawati tour takes you to some of the best places in the Shekhawati region. The tour takes you first to Jhujhunu to explore its attractions which includes the Khetri Palace.
  • The next stop is Nawalgarh where you will get to see some of the most amazing Shekhawati paintings and other ancient works of art. After the tour, you will be spending one more night in Jhunjhunu. 
  • The next part of your Shekhawati tour will be taking you to Mandawa which is a small town famous for its outdoor paintings. The town of Mandawa is also famous as the “Outdoor art gallery of Rajasthan”. Explore the bylanes of this wonderful town as you go from one painting to another. 
  • The last stop on this tour is Fatehpur which is famous for its beautiful Havelis and frescos. You even get to see a little example of French architecture at the Nadine Le Prince Haveli. Return to Mandawa for the night. The next morning you will be taken back to the Jaipur Airport and your tour comes to an end. 

Shekhawati Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Start the Shekhawati tour with a scenic drive from Jaipur to Jhunjhunu
  • Arrive at the Jaipur Airport on your own where our representative will be waiting for you. 
  • From the airport, you will be taken to Jhunjhunu by car. 
  • On reaching the hotel in Jhunjhunu, complete your check-in formalities and retire to your room to freshen up.
  • After lunch at the hotel, head out to explore the attractions of Jhunjhunu like Rani sati Temple.
  • First stop is the Khetri Palace which is famous for its architecture. It is made entirely of marble and has the strength of a fort and elegance of a palace. 
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Drive to Nawalgarh
  • The next morning, post breakfast, enjoy a one hour drive to Nawalgarh. 
  • This town is famous for its Shekhawati paintings. 
  • Explore the ancient paintings that depict the lifestyle of the Marwaris in great detail. 
  • Return to your hotel in Jhunjhunu for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Visit the open art gallery of Rajasthan - Mandawa
  • Check out of the hotel and enjoy a one hour drive to Mandawa. 
  • Explore the beautiful town of Mandawa and its outdoor paintings. 
  • Visit Mandawa Fort, Goenka Double Haveli, Murmuria Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli and the Bansidhar Newatia Haveli.
  • Spend the night in the hotel in Mandawa.
Day 4
Fatehpur’s Shekhawati frescoes
  • Today, you’ll explore the beautiful town of Fatehpur and besides the traditional theme also get a glimpse of some French architecture at the Nadine Le Prince Haveli. 
  • Also, visit the Dwarkadheesh Temple and Jagannath Singhania Haveli. 
  • Drive back to Mandawa and spend the night in the hotel here.
Day 5
Bid goodbye to the frescoes of Shekhawati
  • Check out of the hotel and get ready for the drive back to Jaipur Airport. This ends your Shekhawati tour.
