About the Monument:
The National Zoological Park, formerly integrated as the Delhi zoo in 1956, serves as a home to approx 1350 animals across 130 species of animals and birds from around the world. The zoo lets the animals reside in their natural habitat form, thus offering a great place for breeding & preserving endangered species.
- Visit a 176-acre zoo inaugurated with the idea of becoming a model for other zoos in India.
- Spot unique animals like the Gir lion, chimpanzees, hyenas, hippopotamus, African Wild Buffalo and zebras when in the park.
- The zoo has an underground reptile house that houses reptiles like the Gharial, Marsh Crocodile, Indian Cobra, Indian Star Tortoise and the Indian Sand Boa.
- Witness beautiful & unique species of birds such as the Sarus Crane, Emu, Silver Pheasant, Peafowl, Grey Hornbill and the Barn Owl

- Entry ticket is non refundable

- Entry ticket timings are - Morning: Valid till 12:00 PM ; Afternoon: Valid till 04:00 PM
- Children within the age group of 5-12 years can book the child package for selected variants
- The park is closed on Fridays & national holidays.
