Manimahesh Trek happens to be one of the most sought after treks in Himachal Pradesh because of its divine connections as well as a beautiful setting. The trek is located at an elevation of 4080 meters above the sea level, close to the famous Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Mountain Ranges.


This place is also considered holy among the Hindu followers and has got religious significance next to the famous Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. Loved by not just adventure enthusiasts, the Manimahesh Trek is a bustling scene during the peak months of August and September for pilgrimage at the sacred places in the region.


And thus, the trek to the peak has been termed as Manimahesh Yatra and the state government has also declared it to be a state-level pilgrimage.

About the Manimahesh Trek


The Mani Mahesh Trek starts from Hudsar and continues till Mani Mahesh through Dancho which is located at an elevation of 2280 meters above the sea level. After reaching Dancho, you will pass through the Valley of Flowers and reach the glacier of the Lake. 


Heading out on the Manimahesh trek, you will pass through the mystic Pir Panjal Mountain Ranges in Himachal Pradesh and many other sacred lakes in the Himalayan Region. Pilgrims mostly take this trek between the months of August and September when the Hindu festivals of Janmashtami to Radha Ashtami occur, whereas trekkers choose to begin their journey from the month of Mid May till October.


It takes about 8 days to cover this complete experience starting from travels from Delhi. In the course of the journey, you will get to stay in designated campsites where you will be provided with food and other necessities. 

Manimahesh Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Delhi - Pathankot By Train

On the very first day of the Manimahesh trekking, you will be arriving in Delhi and then you will be received traditionally by our agents with garlands. 

You will then be transferred to Pathankot by train at 9:00 PM. You will reach Pathankot at 6:05 AM the next morning. 

Day 2
Pathankot - Chamba

After your arrival at Pathankot, you can go for refreshments and then leave for Chamba by train. 

Upon your arrival at Chamba, you can check-in at the pre-booked hotel and then spend some time in leisure. 

In the evening hours, you can explore the historical township of Camba and visit the famous Laxmi Narayan Temple of Chamba which is known for its Himalayan Heritage Architecture.

You will be provided dinner at the hotel and there will be an overnight stay at the same place. 

Day 3
Chamba - Bharmaur - Hudsar - Dancho

The third day of the Manimahesh trekking will start from Chamba to Husdar via Bharmour. Hussar happens to be the starting point of the trek. 

Upon your arrival at Hussar, you will trek to Dancho which would take about 3 hours to reach the campsite. There will be overnight stays in the tents.

Day 4
Dancho - Mani Mahesh

On the fourth day of the Manimahesh trekking, you will wake up to a delicious breakfast and then head out to the sacred ManiMahesh Lake. 

You will also visit a number of ancient temples and Wildlife sanctuaries. 

The sanctuaries are home to black and brown bears, snow leopards, and rare pheasants. 

You will get to stay in a campsite close to the holy lake. 

Day 5
Mani Mahesh Lake

The fifth day of the Manimahesh trekking is completely free for you to spend time in leisure exploring the place and taking the round of the holy Lake. 

Capture the scenic views of the place and delight your senses with the alluring natural beauty all around as well as make memories to cherish all through your life. 

You will have an overnight stay in the campsite where you will be provided with dinner. 

Day 6
Mani Mahesh lake - Dancho

It’s time to trek down after spending some of the magical moments on the peak. 

You will trek down to Dancho through the same route and spend the night time at the campsite.

Day 7
Dancho - Hudsar - Chamba

You will have your morning breakfast at the campsite in Dancho and then continue trekking down to Hudsar. 

After reaching Hudsar, you will start your drive to Chamba. 

You will be staying overnight at a hotel in Chamba where you will be provided with dinner. 

Day 8
Chamba - Delhi

This is the last day of Manimahesh trekking and the time has come to head back to Delhi to commence your onward journey back home. 

You will have your breakfast at Chamba and then you can drive to Pathankot Railway station to catch your overnight train to Delhi.
