Mandala Tour

Mandala tour begins in Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Live in Leh for a day before setting out for the forward journey. In Leh, see Shanti stupa-the peace temple, Royal palace that houses the ancient temple, make friends at the Leh market and acclimatize yourself.

Next up you move to Alchi which is approx 62 kms from Leh. On the way lies Basgo Palace Basgo palace was built by Singhey Namgyal, in 16th century where he also built a three-storey copper guilt of Maitriya Budhha in the memory of his father Jamyang Namgyal. After that visit Likir Monastery which belongs to Geukspa order. Alchi monastery is a part of Likir monastery.

Lamayuru lies at 125 kms, west of Leh. At first there was just a lake, by Arahat Nimagung made a prophecy that a monastery will appear at this spot. The monastery was called Yungdrung due to the swastika formed by corn and earth.

Khardung La Pass is known as the highest motorable pass in the world. It is a must to pass it, stand next to the placard and click pictures. The Indian army protect the place.
