12 Days Lhasa To Mount Everest Trekking Tour In Tibet

Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Arrive in Lhasa.

  Arrive in Lhasa (3700m, where your English-speaking local Tibetan guide and driver will bring you to your hotel and rest at hotel for acclimatization.

  Stay overnight at the hotel.

• Day 2 -

  Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple in the morning and Bakhor Street after noon.

  In the morning, visit the huge and magnificent complex of ancient buildings, breathtaking Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama, built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama.

  After that, explore the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred monastery in Tibet, and the surrounding Barkhor bazaar, the bustling Lhasa market.

• Day 3 -

  Visit Drepung Monastery in the morning and Sera Monastery in the afternoon.

  In the morning, explore the expansive Drepung Monastery which is the largest monastery in Tibet and the home monastery to all Dalai Lamas.

  In the afternoon go to Sera Monastery to watch the monks’ debate in centuries-old manner, which has a rich collection of cultural relics and a silk tangkha painting of Sakya Yeshe.

• Day 4 -

  Lhasa-Gyangtse-Shigatse

  In the early morning, start your journey toward south west, and see the breathtaking holy Yamdrok lake with its turquoise color and snow capped Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance,

  At Gyantse, visit Palkhor Choede monastery, a magnificent multi-door structure is the largest stupa in Tibet, and is well known for its beautiful architecture, old sculptures and paintings around its inner walls.

  At the late afternoon, head back to Shigatse

  Overnight stay at shigatse

• Day 7 -

  Shigatse-Old Tingri (290kms)

  Drive to the small town of Old Tingri, which sits at 4335 m

• Day 8 -

  Trek from Old Tingri-Lungchang 12kms (around 4 hours)

  Trek along the Ra Chu stream to beyond Choling and Lungchang villages (4350m)

  Overnight camp in Lungchang.

• Day 9 -

  Trek from Lungchang to the base of the Nam La Pass 21kms, (around 6 hours)

  Trek from Lungchang to the small village of Drokpa (4860m) which is at the base of the Nam La Pass (5100m),

  Overnight stay in a camp

• Day 10 -

  Trek from Nam La Pass to Everest Base Camp 27kms, (around 10 hours).

  Trek will end when you arrive at North Face Base Camp of Mt. Everest after a long day.

• Day 11 -

  Everest Base Camp – Shigatse visit -Tashi Lhunpo monastery

  Wake up early morning to see the unforgettable sunrise over Mt. Everest, the highest peak on earth at 8,848m (29,029 ft) and capture some memories here.

  Drive to Shigatse (3900m)

  Overnight stay in shigatse

• Day 12 -

  Shigatse to Lhasa

  Leave Shigatse for Lhasa, visiting natural beauty spots on the way like Yarlung River and you also have time to explore around the town and taking photos on the way back to Lhasa.

  Overnight stay in Lhasa

• Day 13 -

  Send off from Lhasa to train or airport.

  On the final day, yourdriver and guide will send you to Lhasa train station or airport.
