Har Ki Doon Trek Package Inclusions:

1. Accommodation – You will be staying in a Guesthouse/camps in Sankri and in camp on the remaining days of the trek (3 people/tent). The room/tent is separate for the male and female participants.

2. Meals – (Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner). We provide simple, nutritious veg/Jain food on all days of the trek

3. Trekking equipment – High-quality tents and sleeping bags in all the camps. Sleeping bags can withstand temperatures as low as -10 ºC.

4. Safety equipment – First aid kit, oxygen cylinders, oximeter, etc. will be with the guide/trek leader and at the campsite as well to deal with emergencies.

5. Expert trek Leaders – All our trek leaders are at least qualified in basic/advanced mountaineering and first aid courses.

6. Expert Trek support team – The mountain staff on Har Ki Dun trekking consists of certified guides, cooks, helpers, and porters.

How to Reach Dehradun:

The base camp of Har Ki Dun trek is the quaint village of Sankri. In order to reach this destination, you need to visit Dehradun. It takes approximately 9-10 hours to reach Sankri from Dehradun, covering a distance of 198 kilometres. 

By Air- The nearest airport to Sankri is Dehradun, Jolly Grant Airport, which is easily accessible from all metropolitan cities within India by direct and connecting flights. It takes around 3-6 hours to get to Dehradun, depending upon the distance covered, and the number and duration of layovers.

After reaching Dehradun,you can take a taxi or a cab to Sankri. 

By Train- Reach Dehradun railway station by boarding some of the regular trains that connect Dehradun from most major parts of India like Amritsar, Kolkata, Delhi, and Chandigarh. These trains are Amritsar Dehradun Express, Kumbh Express, Doon Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, and Kathgodam Express. Upon reaching Dehradun, you can avail a taxi or a car to reach Sankri. 

By Bus- You can easily get a public or a private bus to Dehradun from all nearby cities like Saharanpur, Chandigarh, Ambala, Pathankot, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and others. Himachal Road Transportation Corporation and Uttarakhand Transport Corporation function majorly upon these routes. As you reach Dehradun, hire a taxi or a cab to reach Sankri. You can also take any of the three early-morning local bus services (private and public both) to go to Sankri, covering 197 kilometres in around 8 hours.

By Car- NH 72A, NH 7, and NH 307 are some of the most important highways that connect Dehradun from nearby places. It is 257 kilometres away from Delhi, and it takes around 5 hours to reach by car. You can simply hire a car and enjoy a scenic long-drive to this hill station, rest for the night, and then steer your way up to Sankri the next day.

Day 1
Arrival in Dehradun | Transfer to Sankri
Welcome to Dehradun! the “Gateway to Garhwal Himalayas” and meet your driver for a scenic drive to Sankri. Enroute, enjoy the views of beautiful valleys and charming villages of Uttarakhand. Also, witness the scenic beauty of Tons river and the surrounding Himalayan peaks along your route. Continue your journey and pass through a beautiful pine forest before reaching Sankri. Upon your arrival in Sankri, check-in to your guest house Or homestay followed by an overnight stay.

    Transfer to Taluka | Trek from Taluka to Puani Garat
    Begin your day with scenic views of the surrounding mountain ranges including the Swagarohini, Bandarpunch from your guesthouse or homestay. Post check-out, enjoy a scenic drive to the Taluka Village. As you reach, get briefed about the trail and start your trek following the trail that passes through the dense pine forests, walking close to the Supin River. Also, enjoy the views of Ruinsara and other peaks before reaching Puani Garat. After reaching, settle at your camp for an overnight stay.

    Trekking Distance: 15 Km | Duration: 5-6 hours | Elevation: 9121 Ft.

    • Upon your arrival in Taluka, a picturesque village of Uttarakhand, get briefed about your Har ki Dun Trek. 
    • Begin the first stretch of your trek from Taluka towards the Puani Garat, “Gateway to Har ki Dun Valley”.
    • Continue your trek through the dense oak, pine and rhododendron forest along with glimpses of the surrounding mountains like Ruinsara and other ranges. 
    • On your way, pass through small villages and walk close to the Supin River, listening to its Gushing sound. 
    • As you reach Puani Garat, settle at your campsite followed by an overnight stay.

    Day 3
    Trek from Puani Garat to Kalkatidhar
    In the morning, enjoy the stunning views of the snow-capped mountains as you begin your second stretch of the trek. On your way, enjoy the glimpses of Black Peak and other mountain ranges while walking through the alpine meadows and lush forests. Also, take a halt in the last village on the Har ki Dun trek route, the beautiful Osla village. Continue your trek to reach Kalkatidhar, and settle in your campsite followed by an overnight stay.
    Activity: Trek from Puani Garat to Kalkatidhar

    Trekking Distance: 10 Km | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation:10830 Ft.

    • Early morning enjoy the stunning views and begin your ascend through the alpine meadows and lush forests. 
    • On your way, cross various streams and rocky paths, also don't forget to stay hydrated. 
    • Take a halt at Osla and indulge in the scenic views of the Swagarohini and hata peak. 
    • Continue your trek and on reaching, settle in your campsite followed by an overnight stay.

    Day 4
    Har Ki Dun Trek | Descend to Kalkatidhar
    Get ready for an interesting day and prepare to leave your campsite for your next stretch of the trek. Begin your trek following the trail that passes through various waterfalls, before reaching the confluence point of River Supin and Ruinsara. Continue your trek to the sacred Marinda Tal and on reaching enjoy the snow-capped peaks of the Black peak and others surrounding the lake. Later, start your downhill trek to Kalkatidhar campsite and enjoy an overnight stay.
    Activity: Trek from Kalkatidhar to Marinda Tal Trek

    Trekking Distance: 16 Km | Duration: 7 hours | Elevation: 12530 Ft.

    • As you begin your early morning trek towards the scenic Marinda Tal, pass through the confluence point of Supin and Ruinsara River. 
    • Continue your trek, and enjoy the stunning views of the snow-capped Ruinsara peaks, Black peaks and others. 
    • As you reach Har ki Dun, soak in and relax in the calming atmosphere while enjoying the magical views. 
    • Next, continue your trek to Marinda Tal, a sacred lake and learn about it's significance. 
    • Later, begin your descent to Kalkatidhar campsite for an overnight stay.

    Downhill Trek from Kalkatidhar to Puani Garat
    In the morning, begin your trek amidst the beautiful Himalayan scenery and start your descend towards Puani Garat. On your way, pass through the rhododendron forests and beautiful valleys. Also, soak in the Garhwali culture in the Osla village. Continue your trek, listening to the sound of flowing streams and witnessing the glimpses of Black peak and Ruinsara range. As you reach Puani Garat, settle in your campsite and enjoy your overnight camp stay.
    Activity: Trek from Kalkatidhar to Puani Garat

    Trekking Distance: 10 Km | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 8270 Ft.

    • Begin your descend gradually, retracing your path towards the scenic Puani Garat, “The Gateway of Har ki Dun”.
    • Trek through the trail passing through the beautiful oak and rhododendron forests. 
    • On your way, pass through alpine meadows and reach the Osla village, known for its Garhwali culture. 
    • Continue your trek and enjoy panoramic views of the black peak, Ruinsara and other mountain ranges. 
    • On reaching Puani Garat, settle in your campsite followed by an overnight stay.

    Downhill Trek from Puani Garat to Taluka | Transfer to Sankri
    Wake up in the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and get ready for your final day trek from Puani Garat to Taluka. Begin your trek through lush oak and rhododendron forests along with glimpses of the surrounding Black peak, Bandarpunch range. On your way, walk close to the Supin River and listen to it's gushing sound. On reaching Taluka, enjoy a scenic drive to Sankri. Upon your arrival, check-in to your homestay Or guesthouse and enjoy your overnight stay.

    Trekking Distance: 12 Km | Duration: 6 hours | Elevation: 6725 Ft.

    • Start your final stretch of your downhill trek from the Puani Garat. 
    • Trek on the trail that passes through lush oak and pine forests with stunning Himalayan vistas. 
    • On your way, walk close to the Supin River and listen to it's gushing sound while witnessing the magical views of the mountain ranges.
    • As you reach Taluka, get ready for a scenic drive to Sankri.

    Know Before You Go for Har Ki Dun Trek

    • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the trek.
    • Avoid using earphones during the trek; this might hinder your audibility.
    • Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations.
    • The trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travelers littering may be fined.
    • Water is very precious, so conservation is appreciated
    • In case, the trek needs to be cancelled, the authorities should be informed beforehand.
    • Guidelines issued by the State-Government is to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
    • Please provide a valid ID at the time of check-in.
    • The exact location will be shared with you post-booking.
    • Professional guide(s) are available to ensure high safety and more information and personal attention which are necessary to appreciate a trek.
    • The management reserves all the right to modify the trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
    • Neat and clean vehicle for the journey with experienced driver especially for hilly terrains available.
    • Camping is very basic in nature. One must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
    • Mobile & laptop charging points may/may not be available on campsites at a common point.
    • Carry dry snacks/food from home (you will save a lot of money). Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
    • Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
    • Porter & mule support to carry camping equipment. Please note that personal luggage can be carried by mules and/or porters on chargeable basis
    • Consult a physician before undertaking the Har ki Doon trek. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the trek.
    • Transportation to and fro from Dehradun Railway Station is available on request on additional charges
    • Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Har Ki Doon trek package.
    • Itineraries are based on information available at the time of planning and are subject to change. "Thrillophilia'' reserves the right to change expedition dates, people or itineraries as conditions warrant If a trip must be delayed or the itinerary changed due to bad weather, road conditions, transportation delays, government intervention, airline schedules, sickness, or other contingency for which Thrilllophilia or its agents cannot make provision, the cost of delays and/or other changes are the responsibility of the participant. Thrillophilia reserves the right to decline, or accept, any individual as a trip member for any reason whatsoever.
    • Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like a change in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/1trains, political disturbances, natural phenomenon, roadblocks, etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost. No bill will be reimbursed for any missed service/facility.
    • During a trip, in case the roads are blocked due to landslides or a reason that is beyond control, Thrillophilia will rearrange the itinerary for the travellers real-time, however, the cost of alternative accommodation will be borne by the customer as the hotels pre-booked execute their cancellation policies and are nonrefundable.
    • Because of any reason natural or personal, if the Trek or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
    • The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to change in the number of guests, hotel change, itinerary change, etc.
    • If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
    • The refund or compensation is also not issued if for any reason you have to come down from the trek. The trek leader may send you down from the trek, owing to reasons like lack of fitness, AMS, blood pressure, turn-around-time, health issues, or if you are found smoking/ drinking, or breaking the rules of the trek. refund or compensation are issued only when the whole trek is cancelled or called off on behalf of Thrillophilia.
    • At Thrillophilia, we almost never call off or cancel our treks. But in the rare event we might have to call off or cancel a trek due to any unforeseen natural catastrophes like continuous rain or snow, thunderstorms, snowstorms, landslides, floods, earthquakes, or any other natural calamity or other issues like local riots, curfews, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders, or any such situations that might prevent a safe trekking experience. In such cases, Thrillophilia will issue a Credit note summing up to the same amount as your trek fee that can be redeemed on any of the treks over a period of the next year.
