About the Activity:

  • Head out to bring home some unforgettable memories from Meghalaya, the land of tranquility with this four day trekking trip to the Double Decker Bridge and David Scott Trail.
  • The moderate trekking tour starts from Guwahati and goes through Shillong, Mawphlang Village and Cherrapunji. From the second day to third day of the tour, you will be completely immersed in the utmost happiness provided by trekking through the natural trails.
  • This is an opportunity to find bliss as you walk through the valleys, greenery, rivers, pools, hanging bridge and the quaint villages.
  • A group tour with your friends or family will gift you the most precious memories and beautiful moments can be carved at this extra ordinary state of India on this tour.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - From Guwahati to Shillong

    Assemble at the bike picking up point in Guwahati at around 07:30 am.

    Get ready to ride to Shillong with the gears provided by the organizers.

    Stay overnight in dome tents.

  • Day 2 - To Mawphlang Village

    Today, in the morning, post breakfast, head out to Mawphlang Village.

    After reaching the starting point of the trek, begin trekking to Lad Mawphlang which is also known as the David Scott Trail. (16 km).

    Visit the village and explore it thoroughly, enjoy the hanging bridge and cross it, watch the flowing river and indulge in valley crossing etc.

    Have lunch which is packed, on the way.

    Once you finish the trail, you will be picked up from Lad Mawphlang and transferred to the campsite in Cherrapunji.

    Stay overnight at Cherrapunji.

  • Day 3 - To the Double Decker Root Bridge

    After having breakfast, get ready to go to the Double Decker Root Bridge located at Nongriate Village.

    Carry packed lunch with you.

    The trek to the Double Decker Bridge will consume around 5 hours normally.

    Enjoy walking amidst the beautiful nature, cross the pools en route, cross the hanging bridge and witness the quintessential Double Decker Root Bridge.

    After the completion of the trek, come back to the campsite at Cherrapunji and stay overnight there.

  • Day 4 - To Guwahati

    In the morning, begin your return journey to Guwahati and after reaching there, indulge in a farewell meeting with your team mates.
