Trek to Malana Magic Valley was a beautiful experience.Though if you are taking a weekend trip,a trek from Kasol to the valley and back to Kasol camps is not humanely possible unless you are booking a car which will cover most of the distance and you need to trek only 3 km. You can stay overnight in the camps in the Malana valley and start next day fresh in the morning for your travel to Manikaran . If there is not much traffic while returning you can take your bus back to Delhi the same day from Bunthar

Kasol is a small and a very beautiful place. Camping in villages is a lot of fun. It is something that I have never experienced until now. We had a really great time in there. The camp was just about perfect and we had loads of fun. Also, camping with random fellow campers was something that I have never done before and I am so glad to that I had some great set of fellow campers. The camping was inexpensive, and it was totally worth the time and money spent. We had a really great time with lot of fun activities. The climate over this area is pretty cold, but with well equipped winter wear, this camping can be totally enjoyed without much hassles. I am so recommending this.

We reached this really small village in the morning to start our camping experience in Kasol. The driver took us to the campsite and we were given a nice welcome with authentic local food. In the evening, we did some sightseeing and then returned to sleep in our camps. The next day we trekked to Malana and Magic Valley where our guide was really good with his knowledge of the place. Later we camped at Magic Valley region and enjoyed the bonfire. The stay was triple sharing. The next day we checked out and returned with a fantastic experience of visiting Kasol for an adventure.

I booked this tour for Malana village trek and camping in Kasol as I was looking for adventure tours around Delhi. It was definitely a great experience. We were around the dense green jungles which was beautiful. I really wish to see the place again as it was so good. The food was the highlight where I enjoyed tasty local cuisine.

The best time for trekking and camping in Kasol is marked by the time between months of March and June. You will find the temperature to be really pleasant and the valley to be filled with multiple colors.
This depends on what month you choose to go for trekking here. The place boasts of a perfect and pleasant climate throughout the year. The highest temperatures are usually seen in the month of June, going barely over 29-degree celsius, with the yearly average of about 17 degrees. So it is a given that while you are trekking between the months of March to June, you will find the weather to be pleasing the whole day.
The difficulty level for the Malana magic valley trek ranges from moderate to challenging, as at one point, you will have to literally climb a hill to get there. A person must be physically sound and should be able to walk for at least 10 kms without breaking a sweat to successfully complete the trek.
It is a must that you carry everything you will need while traveling, especially things that you won’t be able to buy there. Things that you should be carrying for this trek are-
- Backpack (not very big as you need to pack light as well),
- Good quality hiking or trekking shoes,
- A water bottle,
- One each of jacket and pullover,
- Comfortable clothing (not more than 2 t-shirts and a pair of jeans),
- Track pants,
- Personal Toiletries,
- Personal Medication,
- Light snacks,
- Power bank,
- Flashlight and extra batteries,
- Pocket knife
-If you want connectivity, then a BSNL sim.
Because shoes are amongst the most important trekking gear, the kind of footwear you choose for the trek is very important. Go for something that is not all leathery and heavy on the foot. Rather go for a semi leather, lightweight type of hiking or trekking footwear. Also important is the room for your ankles, so make sure you buy what fits you the best. Go for brands like- Wildcraft, Decathlon, Salomon Quechua.
Kasol is inhabited by a variety of people belonging to different ethnic groups and countries. A touch of that you will find everywhere you go. Around the many cafes, both in Kasol and in Malana, you will get Pahadi, Israeli, Italian, Chinese and sometimes German as well. As far as the Kasol camps are concerned, you will get Indian, as well as all the above choices in both, Veg and Non-Veg variants. Water is also readily available, and most of the villagers use the river streams with crystal clear water for drinking as well as cooking purposes.
When you have decided to plan a getaway in Kasol camps, you must be ready for the least possible or even zero connectivity. For the best option, in case you need it, BSNL works fine in Kasol.
While traveling, make sure that you are carrying general first aid kit, general medicines, as well as specific personal medication, as there are very little chances that you will have all this readily available in such remote areas whenever the need arises.
The must go and best places to visit in Kasol are- Kheerganga, Tosh Village, Parvati River, Chalal Village, Manikaran Sahib, Tirthan Valley. Places to visit around Kasol are- Manali, Kullu, Bhuntar, Naggar Village.
Yes, Kasol, and nearby regions in the Parvati Valley are safe for girls to trek and enjoy the spirit of the hills. The locals are amazing and cooperative, and while trekking and camping in Kasol, you must follow their advice with the utmost importance.
